Umd also has huge installations of NASA,FDA.Homeland Security, Ratheon, American physics institute, national archives, center for international foreign language, the national weather prediction center, NOAA,

On campus.

I admit... I love Umd !! The national championships, the campus, the inside the beltway locale, whenever I see the muppets or Seinfeld , somebody wearing Underarmour or buy anything with the universal price code, or use google, or get gasoline or fly a plane, or see a Jumbotron , or hear about watergate , or see a Prius , or hear of a friend getting stents operation, or see weather radar on TV,

I say to myself "what is it about Umd that facilitates all the things we depend on". I don't know what it is but I love it. And oooohhh I love the flag !

There's a UMD booster on here who routinely comes on the website to spout a never-ending stream of pablum about how wonderful and great and amazing UMD is and how much better it is than all those silly schools that are ranked in the top 10. I've learned just to ignore the posts now. They are that ridiculous.

So true.. It's one of the reasons we are leaving the backwards ACC. UNC just got caught graduating illiterate minority athletes for the last 25 years. They gave those kids no education what so ever. Umd and the Big 10 wouldn't ever graduate without any academic work.

Lol us news is run by pedophiles who increase rankings after your school gets caught covering up boy rape.

Check the unbiased and not impressed by colonial/plantation campus or boy rape schools ARWU academic ranking of world universities . They base rankings on results like nobels and fields medals not payola.

Shockingly, these points are not luring additional applicants to your school, or giving the school a high yield of admitted students. Although I hear that it makes a lovely safety school for UVA applicants. And no, I didn't attend UVA, I just live in the real world.
