Langley High School is far out there, so if driving to DC is a factor, I'd avoid it. Or hit Country Club Hills on the other side of the McLean/Arlington line, which puts you in 22207 feeding into Yorktown, which is the equivalent to McLean High School on the Arlington side, and also a quick shot into DC. $1.5 mill on either side of these lines buys you a decent property and a good commute into DC. Does not buy you metro access or walkability, though. You're committing to the car.

Yorktown is not equivalent to McLean sorry.

Dont be sorry....be truthful. It will help you in life. They are similar..and George mason high in FCis better than either....

Not sure why you are reviving a thread that's been dormant for over a year, but McLean has higher SAT scores than George Mason and more extra-curriculars. They are both 9s on Great Schools.

Pretty sad given the underlying stats that the best you can do is claim parity...

Of the three, McLean has the highest SAT scores, Yorktown ranks highest on the WaPo Challenge Index, and George Mason has the highest US News ranking.
McLean and Mason have the same GS ranking, with Yorktown slightly lower. All are good choices. Maybe you need to find something else to be sad about.
