For anything contemplating Madlax lacrosse

I believe madlax is playing in hoco next year. Npyll is going to grade only teams so that maybe why they are leaving.

Source? Who else plays hoco?

That is incorrect. The NPYLL is sticking with U9, U11, U13 and U15 for at least next year. They thought about switching to grade based teams, but opted against it.

If Madlax is indeed out of the NPYLL, you can probably guess why.

Another update. Earlier this year, Madlax acquired Chesapeake Rock as part of its expansion plans. Rock changed its mind after they and their parents saw the Deadspin emails, and cancelled the merger. The Madlax Baltimore page has now been taken down.

That's two dominoes so far. More are coming. If you are in Madlax, you should attend other tryouts to hedge your bets before you commit your credit card to another twelve months of automatic payments.

My son has had a great experience with madlax, so for us, we will be sticking with the program. As of yet, not one family has left the team, nor have I heard any talk from parents that they plan on leaving in the fall. I don't see the mass exodus that some have predicted - at least not at the AA level.

Exactly what is wrong in lacrosse land....does anyone stand up for what is right?

Way to teach your son to be a coward. At some point, you will become dissatisfied with Madlax and leave. Then you'll see what kind of reception you get from the founder.

As for defections, you are wrong. We know multiple kids who have already decided to tryout for VLC and other programs. You'll see after the VLC tryouts are finished and who shows up for the Madlax tryouts.

Madlax charges more, forces you to pay a monthly fee for 6 month increments, and threatens kids who leave. The kid in the Deadspin is just one kid. Others who've left for Blackwolf, VLC, etc. got the same treatment.

But as long as it's not your kid, right?

What? Multiple kids leaving a 500+ program. Well that changes everything.

Like I said, we've had a good experience with madlax and plan to stay. Not going to resort to name calling like the previous post, just sharing my personal experience.

Good to know that seeing a kid harassed, insulted and threatened by the head of Madlax doesn't affect you whatsoever. Great moral compass.

Not another "great parenting" or "moral compass" retort. You must get some new material. It doesn't do much for your cause.

SCARY! We are moving to the area and my son is a serious lacrosse player (in process of getting recruited) and there is no way we would allow hiim to play for a madman like that if he were the only gig in town. Why is he allowed to still coach 8th graders?

+1. Time for new material. What sort of moral compass would it be to quit, anyway?

Congratulations to your son. Which programs is he looking at?

So if you opt for a different job, that's being a quitter? Standing around why other families are treated like crap is the right thing to teach your son?
