For anything contemplating Madlax lacrosse

Maddux is the only one bashing kids. People on this thread have question how PARENTS of Madlax players can keep their kids in that program knowing what they know now (although this type of behavior was known to many for years). Nobody bashing any kids on this thread.

A parent's job is to raise their kids and teach them good morals. Not sure how you can stay with Madlax and achieve the latter.

Most families make a decision with their kids jointly. Thus you are attacking the joint decision of child and parent. Do you decide for your son which club he plays with? Not sure how you can do that and teach your child how to think and reason for himself. I'd prefer my kids learn to think and decide on their own, with my input. That way they are prepared for the day I can't hold their hand and protect them from the big bad email bully. You?

Let's say your child is part of a group of friends. Then you find out that one of the friends says racist/sexist things, or perhaps engages in reckless behavior. Do you leave the decision solely up to your child, or do you step in and say that despite how much he likes these guys, you, as the parent, know better?

Seriously! I've never been happier to have a SN kid who will never play a team sport. If it means I can avoid all of these people, I happily will. Oh, and this Coach guy sounds horrible.

No, really. You're not. But thanks for playing.

If my kid was hanging with kids who said racist things I would explain how I don't approve and that isn't consistent with my values. But I wouldn't force my kid to stop associating with those kids if he didn't conclude on his own it was the right thing to do. I'd be disappointed and perplexed, but it is his life. I also don't equate the Maddux emails to racism.

LOL. You said that if your son thought it was the "right thing to do" to hang out with a racist, you would support it. Great parenting.

In other words, as long as it wasn't done to your kid, it's ok in your book.

I think the poster was saying she lets her son make his own decisions. That makes sense to me. Unless he is seven or eight, but I am assuming we are dealing with middlemschoolers here. I don't think that is the same as "as long as it is not your kid it is ok." That would be a different point.

My kid is about to enter the club world and there is no way he nor I are interested in Madlax. He just wants to play, I just want to watch, and we both want to have fun. Madlax may not lose too many current players, but it's future enrollment is going to plummet.

Where are you guys looking?

If you are looking to play for a club who plays in the NPYLL, don't look at Madlax. Word on the street is that Madlax is no longer part of it.

Have heard that as well. No confirmation yet. Would be a big blow and the type of thing that might cause us to leave.
