Who is affected by this settlement?

On January 22, 2010, the Court entered an Order and Memorandum certifying an FX Damages Class in Ross v. American Express. Only members of the FX Damages Class may participate in the proposed Ross v. American Express settlement.

You are a member of the FX Damages Class if: You used a Visa, MasterCard and/or a Diners Club credit or charge card between July 22, 2000 and November 8, 2006, and were assessed a fee or surcharge for using your card to purchase goods and/or services priced in foreign currencies or in foreign countries, and
The card you used was issued by one of the following banks: Bank of America, Bank One/First USA, Chase, Citibank, Diners Club, HSBC/Household, MBNA or Washington Mutual/Providian, and
You submitted a claim as part of the settlement in In re Currency Conversion Fee Antitrust Litig. ("CCF I"), and your claim was not rejected by the Settlement Administrator.

I recall the case and still had the copy of the filing. Got my $25 check and cashed it - I used to live overseas during this time period.

I got one too... NEVER have left the country. EVER.
Mmm. Guess the 'printer' of the check gets your cashed check back with your account info printed on the back. Not going to cash UNTIL I remember when my doppleganger traveled abroad. 0_o

And every person/company you write a check to sees your account info printed on the check. Then what?

Thank you for the link! Explained the checks to hubby and I totally; though I. Wish I was on the law team that won! For those that don't understand the hesitation to cash these I, like many more people on here, were thinking scam where our acct numbers from the bank ended up on the back of the checks and then used to get into account. Don't know how it happens but it does. Our $16.46 combined windfall will be cashed to help with increased taxes in Maryland lol!

It is a good point that you don't have to travel abroad. The currency exchange fees can be incurred if you purchase something from an overseas vender.

I am not cashing this check for $8.23 No 373766. I never owned a American express card. I do not want to be involved in this lawsuit settlement. If I could send it back I would.

can you send me an address to send it back? If so, use the information on the check, and send me a note to where I could send it back. Thank you
