| i got one too $8.23. I'm taking it to the bank to decide if it's legal. I would check with a bank vrs a cop. The police is right in that you do have to be careful of checks that come in the mail but i would guess they don't know anything about this particular check |

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO POST HERE - NOT HAVING READ THE PREVIOUS THREADS! IT INVOLVES ALL THE MAJOR CREDIT CARDS! The web page explains it all - http://www.ccfsettlement.com/home/ and it's 8.23 to almost all recipients because below a certain threshold of $ spent, that's what the court decided upon. If you're going to use a forum to post - try reading the previous posts.

| A FEW YEARS AGO THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES. YES THIS IS LEGIT. I ALSO GOT A CHECK FOR 8.23 . THIS WAS FOR CHARGING FEES THAT WERE NOT LEGAL. ITS NOT MUCH... BUT.. IF EACH ONE OF US DON'S CASH IT BECAUSE IT IS A SMALL CHECK.. THEN AT THE END OF THE DAY..... THE BANK KEEPS MILLIONS !!!!!!!!!!!.. SO WHAT THE HECK , CASH IT AND ENJOY THE COUPLE DOLLARS !!! |

| We cashed ours (mine for $8.23 and DH's for $12ish) weeks ago with no problems. The paranoid people in this thread are really annoying. |

i had amex expr years ( i mean years) ago - yes this is ligit - it has been in the works for about 8 yrs -- oh my check was 8.23 - have to look up the total and figure the att fee (:>

| It sure is interesting how the 3 posts in this thread claiming the checks bounced all say they got charged $12 by their bank. First, how is it all of your banks have the same NSF fee? I suspect you are either a troll or are trying for some reason to talk people out of depositing their checks. Second (in case you are somehow legit.), you should join a credit union where bounced deposited checks have no fee. |

This class action suit has gone on for 8-10 years. It is not
only Amex, it is also Visa and MasterCard, possibly others. The card companies were charging "extra" fees on travel billed to their cards. Go ahead and cash your checks! Bill Ontario Canada |
