You don't mean you like, gave her the chewed up one in your mouth? Or fed it to her, mouth to mouth? Because that would be kind of weird.

People are reacting this way because they can think, read, and are informed. On this forum alone, you could have informed yourself about herpes and cavity-causing bacteria, for instance. Perhaps not a big deal to you, but a big deal to many parents.

Crumbs off the floor, dirty toys, etc, are unavoidable and mostly harmless microbes that boost babies' immune systems. Sharing saliva with someone who's not even a parent is neither.

Not to mention that OP reacted like an entitled little b!tch.

OP, I have a SIL like you. In the beginning she tried to interfere with our relationship and then later our marriage. I guess she thought she should be top dog and in my marriage there's only room for one top and that is me. Her and my MIL probably spent hours bad mouthing me from day one, and it was unkind and undeserved. Fast-forward 12+ years later ... we barely see her at all, my DH sees her as a controlling bitch (and of course, so do I). We are always on guard with her and rarely allow her the opportunity to control anything. We basically only see her on some holidays and some birthdays. Even when we are in the same room we don't talk much and about nothing too personal. I thought after she became a wife and a mother all of our relationships would improve, but sadly, they did not. I have brothers and I learned a long time ago that if I wanted to remain close with my brothers that I had to be sincere friends with their wives. Agreed. OP WAY overstepped boundries, and she sounds like a complete ass. If she were my SIL I would have gone on off on her. No way would I ever let her near my child for a VERY LONG time.
