Yes, it has stayed the same for BOYS, but not for women.
Post links of what you think a preppy young SAHM might wear today...in 2013...in Maryland. |
Ooooh, so preppy means "dress like a douche bag". I get it now. |
Prep motto: less is more.
They are not flashy. It's an understated New England thing. They are not chain shoppers. Women are fresh scrubbed, not heavily made up. Hair is simple. Quality over quantity. Things are bought to last. This goes with cars as well as clothes. Worn in vs new. |
Post links to images. All I'm getting from the PP is blah blah blah. |
Much what my mom wore in the 60s/70s. Look at old Jackie O on the Cape photos. Those skinny jeans, cafe pants, flats, cashmere sweaters, ribbed tees, etc. |
You'd get the images immediately if it was in your blood. It is not easy to fake. Simple gold wedding band vs huge bling-bling diamond...so not MD SAHM. |
A true prep lady would never go to "mass" as a true prep is not Catholic. A true prep is Episcopalian and would go to "church." |
Again WASP and Prep are not the same thing. Preps most certainly can be Catholic and many famous ones were just that. |
Agreed, 22:25....and guess who wore Lilly when on vacay in Florida? Jackie O.
And my old money-friend of the Kennedy's--choate/harvard grad friend has a big rock....simple, but likely cost a small fortune. She wears skinny jeans and expensive yet simple tees and sweaters with expensive flats.... |

Jackie O in Lilly ![]() Timeless, classic summertime preppy. |
My Dad & Brother-in-law went to Prep! And I live in CCDC ![]() |
That's parochial not preppy. |
Love it! My dad went to Fairfield university undergrad when it was all-men too. |
Congratulations on this utterly stupid and patently false comment. Are you always this openly bigoted and clueless? |
All of my extended family lives in Greenwich (since the 60s). They are Catholic. There is a big Catholic Church there. All of my girl cousins get married in it. Lots of Greenwich Catholics. |
