I like Hunter. I like Harper, too.

Hunter - kills animals
Harper - harpie/ harp on smth

These are the associations I have with these names, but I'd like to change my perception, esp. since they're becoming popular. I would really appreciate someone chiming in and giving me the background of these names, or more positive associations. I'm not being derisive - just an immigrant with ESL.

I love Harper, just because of Harper Lee. Hunter is a horrendous name, it has nothing but violent connetations and a prevalent name for rednecks.

PP here- Thanks!

Got it. Your a bigot.

I don't think you know the definition of "bigot", the people whom name their children "Hunter" are usually the bigoted, racist, gay-hating ones.

Wow way to paint everyone named Hunter with a broad brush. That's a lot of anger for a simple cute name. Did a guy named Hunter dump you or something? I happen to like the name Hunter (and I'm black) it's the name of the star character from one of my fav tv shows from the 80s.

I went to college with a Chloe, pronounced "Chole".

Hunter and West are not uncommon.

I don't really get the anger against the name Hunter - it's not something I personally would name my child, but it's actually a fairly common name, especially among WASPs. I actually know several WASPy Hunters from New England, and no what you call "redneck" Hunters (and I do know my share of people from rural/southern/agricultural regions).

Watching the birthday scroll during the Chica show and saw this zinger: Kolaiah. No clue how to pronounce it.
