Dang, that's all I can think of now. I wish I had more. A lot if the names were tough to pronounce but were international, so were in a different category.

Beyonce is a derivative of a French-Creole surname. Ashanti is the name of a West African tribe and a name that was quite popular in African American communities during the 80s and 90s. Not saying that's where those parents got those names, just offering cultural context.

I once interviewed a young woman named LaTina. Of course, my company's computer system spelled her name as Latina. Poor LaTina.

FYI...it was probably "Tzippy" which is Hebrew, short for Tzipporah (means bird, also a biblical figure - Moses's wife).

Forrest Gump was named for Nathan Bedford Forrest, but there are plenty of Forrests who weren't. I'd hardly say it's "usually" for NBF. I doubt that's who Forrest Sawyer's parents were thinking of.
