She doesn't need to register a username to be recognized. If her first, "new post" is at 10:36, she just needs to start subsequent posts with "10:36 here...." And none of this military time, either, because there will never be a 10:36 am poster and a 10:36 pm poster on the same thread.

Dear OP, you forgot some of my all time favorite annoyances on this forum

A. folks who reply to their own posts correcting their typos. Technically not a troll, but so odd. Like they want to make sure everyone knows they are capable of high quality work product. sigh. Should we call them -"Stepford Posters" - Former Type A law firm types, now SAHM who can't let go of one detail? A typo in an DCurbanmoms post egad!!

B. Posters who are incapable of actually reading an initial post and answering the post. All too often someone half reads it and sends a half baked response that is not germane. And then an hour later send a further reply saying "i read it too quickly....." Should they be the "No nothing poster."

DCurbanmom would not be fun if people actually read the posts, wrote thoughtful responses, and engaged in civilized engagement. If the quality of most posts is any indication - parental reading comprehension skills in MOCO are woefully inadequate.

Hi, OP here! I'm guilty of one of your additions, correcting my own typos. I'm not actually a SAHM former lawyer, if you're interested. I do this because, so many times, a harmless typo becomes an excuse for ignoring the point and riposting with "why should we listen to an illiterate's opinions" and then the thread descends into a referendum on the typo poster's intelligence.

I didn't realize it bugged some of you. I'll stop. But fair warning, the next time I miss a typo and someone calls me an idiot with reading comprehension problems, I'm going back to correcting myself!

Technically it's a$$hole, I think.

There was a big debate on this in the General Forum a few months ago. Some said that people writing a$$hole instead of typing it out are prudes and hypocrites. Others said they do it as a courtesy, so that browsers with nanny programs don't block DCUM, and posters visiting DCUM from work don't attract the attention of their IT departments.

I don't think anyone really questioned whether it's even appropriate to call people names like this....
