Sure it can. Alistair and Hugh are examples of names that are classic and uncommon. Bishop is, however, not a classic name. |
Bishop is better than Saint. |
I recently met a kid named Emperor.
Really. |
I love it! It's different, but not weird. And no, he will not be made fun of. Tons of kids have different names these day. |
This is OP, and this is hilarious. I forgot about this post. "Bishop" is 4 years old, and no, we did not name him that! You guys crack me up! |
Someone else did go with Bishop. |
STOP STOP STOP
This thread is originally from 2011 and was revived by some dimwit who wanted to talk about the name again, awful as it is. |
Wouldn't "The Bishop" be better than just "Bishop"? |
As weird a name as it is, it's actually not bad. |
I actually love the name?! |
My son's name is Bishop - I was watching a B-rated horror movie when I was pregnant and Bishop was the name of the antagonist. I loved it the second I heard it. It didn't have religious connotations at all to me or any of our friends. A lot of people thought of the chess piece and it was also a job in a MMO we played at the time. I often joke he either needs to be a rock star or a freelance exorcist (think Constantine or the Winchesters) otherwise he's misusing his name. He's in first grade right now and has never been bullied for it - in fact a LOT of people, old and young, love his name. |
