The name Bishop for a boy?

We're torn between Bishop and a more traditional name. But we don't have any classic names we agree on. What do you all think?

Would you name a child Priest? Preacher? Reverend? Pastor? I hope not. It's the same thing.

OP here. Thanks for your thoughts. Apparently DH has thought about naming his son Bishop since he was 17. I didn't know that, and when he found out I was pg, he immediately said Bishop. I thought that was cute. But I don't want to make a poor choice on a whim. And it's good to hear from you about the different connotations.

Don't really like it, but it's far from the worst name out there. I could see it working if you have a REALLY common last name, like Smith.

Seriously?

I think you should use it. Who cares if it is an asinine choice? If it is your husband's dream you should help him realize it, even if it sets up your child for a life of misery. He may emerge stronger from it.
