Those giant flower headbands on infants are hideous

Why would a parent be that upset over people mistaking their baby for a boy? They're just a baby. Like it matters. I personally wouldn't give a shit.

I wish there were something gender-identifying for the moms with long haired boys - long enough hair to pull back in ponytails! - to use to proclaim to the world that their children are, indeed, male, rather than the frustrated, exasperated sighs of indignation they make when yet another person asks how old their daughter is. If the question bothers you, cut the kid's hair so he looks like a little boy!!

Unless you're at the pool - seriously, I watch this kid (maybe 3) every week at the pool as she is waiting to get in for her lesson, and EVERY TIME she has a giant bow in her hair. Which her mom brushes, then re-attaches the bow AFTER the kid sheds her street-clothes and gets into her bathing suit. For the 5 minutes that she is going to spend poolside before getting in the water. The kid is extremely cute, but come on!

Many years ago I used to babysit my niece who had very little hair and had a light blue coat. Many times people would stop me and say, "What a cute little boy." I would answer, "Thank you, but she is a girl," and without fail they would say, "But she has no hair." I, without, failing, would say, "neverthelesss, she is a girl because I have changed her diaper." This generally shut them up. Maybe there should be a headband with the New York Yankees or other baseball, football logos, and this will become a trend, particularly for little boys with a lot of hair who are mistaken for girls.

Exactly. What usually makes this even funnier is that they usually have some trendy weird-ambiguous-gender-neutral-last-name-as-first name, as a PP pointed out. Emerson, Riley, Avery, Addison, etc.

I don't think anybody really takes it that seriously. DCUM is a place to vent about meaningless things. Even those who come across as passionately against headbands, are probably doing so because it's just something to do... something to argue about. For the hell of it. Arguing about something so dumb is just kinda fun. And the people who take it very seriously are probably just having a bad day.
