Those giant flower headbands on infants are hideous

I love the "palm tree," it was my preferred hair style in the 80s

Ummmmm.

So far, we've seen Alabama and Texas mentioned. Well, these are handmade (advertised as slightly more expensive due to exceptional quality and non-fraying ribbon) and ordered from California--they're popular all across the USA!!

DC residents think of themselves as so urbane and educated and, uh, full of good taste. We're just as parochial as all those people we look down on. The fact that we can't see it just proves the point.

Thank you for this post! It's amazing to me how often some "dig" or "slam" gets directed towards certain groups of people or those who live in certain states (typically, southern or western). It's particuarly interesting in light of the fact that many on DCUM view themselves as quite tolerant . . . sure, as long as the "tolerance" is for others similar to themselves.

This is the sound of me retching. How the f do either of you *know* how anyone else on this anonymous board views themselves?

Are you serious? Assuming they mean what they say, people post their views here all the time.

I'm not a big fan of the flowers, although I greatly prefer them to giant bows. However, I have to say that that is a super cute baby, flower or no flower.

I think it is a shame to call anyone's baby ugly, but where i am from "cute" is another way of saying "I have nothing good to say about your kid's attractiveness and all babies are cute" so a bit of a backhanded compliment. So you might as well call the baby ugly.

Gosh, maybe I need to quit saying "cute." When in doubt of what to say about sex (not knowing for sure) or appearance, I sometimes say, "So precious!"

Honestly what do you people care if somebody wants to stick a bow or a flower on their kids heads. It's really none of your business in the end.

Apparently you care since you took the time to resurrect a six month old thread.

Where the hell are you from that "cute" means "ugly"?
