I posted http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/109051.page, because I was concerned that DH was glaring and speaking harshly to our baby. The replies really opened my eyes.

I am happy to report that things have improved hugely. I laid it all out for DH and said I would not accept continuing to live this way. I think he had no idea how damaging his behavior was. We then started seeing a different couples counselor, and that made a huge difference. I think the other one was not helpful. There has been slow but steady progress since then, and it's like we're a whole different family. Thanks, DCUM!

So we sent her to daycare in onesies for the summer, but there was a definite point at which it became kind of strange to see her not wearing pants. I think around 4 months, she stopped looking so much like a newborn, and it seemed obscene for her not to wear pants, so we started putting her in pants and dresses more. Now I look back and wonder why we didn't put pants on her sooner! Daycare never said anything either way, I think they would be fine with her being naked.

I was really surprised by how many heated responses there were. Though I did see a toddler running around in just a onesie and I could see what people were saying about it being a little trashy.

Ahh, that one was a classic! So glad you checked in! FWIW, I was someone who said I think of onesies as shirts and it would be weird to wear just thatbut I know means said (or would ever say) it was trashy. I don;t think a newborn can be trashy.

Newborns can't be trashy, unless they're parents pierce their ears
