Child critically hurt after ATV driver runs him down, flees in Northwest DC

It's funny how, if this child had been hit by someone driving a car, people would be up in arms and people would say we have to change a million things including completely redesigning the roads to try to make this sort of thing impossible.

But, somehow, when the child is hit by a teenager illegally riding an ATV on a city street, people are like "there's nothing we can do to prevent this"

Exactly. Do they still disrupt traffic with people on the beltway in Md? They were trying to start fights with drivers by hitting their cars and would gang up on anyone who got out of their car. It creates such a dangerous environment for people just trying to get somewhere.

THAT would get the message across faster than anything. I'm just surprised this situation hasn't happened more often. So sick of the excuses our progressive city council people have made about this issue. Would love to hear what Janeese "all a criminal needs is a hug" thinks about this.

I would 100% support this, and I can't stand Trump.

I don't think it's weird or posturing at all. I've never heard of this lady but I've heard the deafening silence from the Mayor and Council every summer while these jagoffs terrorize the streets and I would like to see someone treat it as the serious QOL problem that it is.

Honestly I'm surprised Kenyan didn't see this as an opening to differentiate himself on this issue. Janeese cannot bring herself to say that any crime is wrong so she would be easy to put on the back foot right now.

This is from Janeese's office. Anytime you criticize anything she does, they suggest you're MAGA. One of many reasons why she is unfit to be mayor.

Well that would be new to me. Do you also scream about George Soros paying me?

Seems like I've hit the nail on the head. You get very defensive yet didn't deny it, very telling.

Someone forgot to take her Risperdal today.

Had to look up what that is. Why are you so familiar with antipsychotic meds? Telling on yourself again?

Fun fact, in WV it's legal to drive a ATV on roads under 25 mph without insurance. One did 10K in damage to my car last summer.

West Virginia. Another great reason not to go there.

Rini is a former federal worker who is now running for mayor as an outsider. Which, good for her, and I support more non-JLGs and Kenyan McDuffies entering the ring, but I'm unsure that Sampath, Solomon, and Goodweather can actually beat the DC political machine. (Would love to be proven wrong, I would vote for any of the three of them over JLG!!!)

janeese would say that teenagers illegally riding atvs on city streets is a culture that we must respect

Enough of her “hug a thug” shtick!

+1. Illegal ATV murders should unite both parties. I’m a lifelong Democrat who supports Trump doing something about this.

But we tried locking up a generation of Black men and it didn't work. How do you know hugs aren't the answer?

This is one of the most bizarre comments I've read in awhile. A political candidate is calling for us to protect innocent children and to take enforcement against ATV riders, and you're somehow offended by this.

It's from JLG's office.
