Do you pass gas during flights or hold it?

My goodness. You people have no manners. You must excuse yourself and go to the restroom when you need to let some air out. And those of you who do it in front of your spouse?!?! I’ve never!

OTOH I have a distinct memory of having been on a really stressful business trip and as soon as I got on the plane I relaxed and unconsciously let fly the whole way to my seat. I felt bad but hadn’t even realized I needed to unclench or what the consequences would be….

I walked down a plane aisle once downwind from a crop duster. It was horrific.

Crop dusting is a great way to get back at those people who grab the back of YOUR chair and jar you when they stand up. High chance they’re also the kinds of people who recline their seat back too.

So true. I never recline my seat unless the one behind me is vacant. When people recline their seats, I usually get up and give their seat as big a shove as possible, then say something like. "oh sorry there wasn't much room and I slipped". I usually do the same when I sit back down. Waiting until they are asleep is the best time.

Why should we punish the person who chooses to recline their seat when the reclining feature is clearly a design flaw that doesn't accommodate the person sitting behind? I recently took a flight, and while I was using my laptop on the tray table, the person in front of me reclined their seat. The reclined seat nearly smashed my screen, and I only had seconds to remove my laptop to prevent it from cracking. This situation wasn't the fault of the person reclining; it was the result of poor design. I made sure to mention this in my after-travel survey.
