I hate Trump, but this is how a leader should look when discussing war and the death of American soldiers. Is he supposed to be upbeat, sniffing, fidgeting, and bobbing his head like a doll ( his usual behavior) ? We have become so accustomed to him behaving like a maniac on drugs that we are surprised when he is intentionally withdrawn.

He wants his supporters to know that he is not taking the decision to go to war lightly. And they will fall for it.

LOL, no! While he can be prone to acting (e.g. ear shooting) he’s never acted in an emergency, he’s ALWAYS entertained (e.g. throwing paper towels).

He’s not panicking because he has no reason to panic. At any time he can withdraw the US carriers and simply declare “mission accomplished”, even if the regime in Iran stays in place. That’s basically what he did in Vz. Fox will report about the great American victory, and his supporters will be none the wiser.

I don’t think he’s capable of panic or shame

He’s absolutely incapable of shame, true. But he can definitely panic because one of his greatest talents is self-preservation.

I think his whole existence is running from and hiding shame. It's why he can't help but deflect all the time and point out everything and everbody else he thinks is shameful.

This. Exactly this. He’s an ugly man trying to remake the country in his ugly image.

He’s even lost this weirdo.

“Nick Fuentes says he is completely done with Trump and will vote Democrat in 2028 if the Republican ticket is Vance/Rubio

- You buried the Epstein files
- There is no border wall
- You didn’t deliver on mass deportations
- You cut corporate tax rates for the rich by cutting Medicaid again
- No infrastructure bill
- No middle-class tax cuts
- You have to refund the tariffs
- And now we’re in a regime change war with Iran

“That’s the breaking point. I’m out.”

He's walked much further out on the plank than he did with Venezuela. I don't think it's completely spun out of his control yet, but it's getting pretty close.

Not really, because Iran is blowing up US assets all through the region. There has to be at least some pretext of a negotiation.

Hegseth is itching to take control and Trump will let him take control and it will be, "Katie, bar the door!'

Once he arms the Kurds (and it seems he may already have done that), there’s no getting out it. Iran is going to collapse into civil war and likely bring Iraq along with it.

More likely the Iranian regime will engage in a brutal repression and we’ll abandon the Kurds like we’ve done before.

The Iranian regime isn’t in great shape at the moment. I’m sure they will be able to fight back and maybe eventually win, but it will be long and bloody.
