Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model

Wow, Tyra does not come across well.
She has sociopathic vibes. Zero accountability.

Stroke side effects. Can’t walk.

I just finished it, and have to say that Nigel Barker really redeemed himself at the end with his (seemingly genuine) treatment of Miss J. Jay Manual...not so much. He seems so insecure and scared that he's incapable of sharing any real emotion.

Tyra is fake AF. Those little half-smiles when she's trying to explain away her BS. Does she know how insincere she sounds? I guess narcissists never do.

Nigel was hot back in the day, and I’d love to just see a show now with Jay and Miss J. I love them too!

Tyra's idea? Knowing what we now know about the "fashion/modeling" industry, a very safe bet there were some "Epstein" creeps over that show coming to fruition -- if not Jeff himself!

I think pp meant Tyras idea of making the industry more inclusive (size, shape, skin colour). Which I believe she did to some extent.

I’d be interested on the take of the others. She didn’t mention assault until now. Called her boyf and said we had sex…I am not saying it wasn’t an assault but I didn’t remember thinking it was back when I first watched it and if even worse footage exists, I wish they backed her and said it was wrong and she was assaulted.

We used to blame the woman for drinking too much.

Not the man, for having sex with someone who was unable to give consent.

(Can you imagine a woman of that size drinking two bottles of wine? No wonder she passed/blacked out. The show should have intervened.)

Who did this? I couldn’t stomach my way through the first episode. Found it too activating. I so felt for the young innocent women especially the beautiful Black one. Tyra and them destroyed people.

Did they actually pull someone’s tooth out by the root or was I dreaming? I pray so.

I never watched one episode of ANTM - I guess I wasn’t interested - however I really enjoyed this program.

It is sad how some of the girls on this show were treated.

And I never knew that Tyra was the way she was.
I assumed that she was a mentor/role model to the contestants but it appears she was other things.

Young women and girls are vulnerable everywhere.

(Particularly if their family is poor.)

(Now airing on Netflix)

Stopped watching the abuse and cruelty the first episode.

Tyra has whined constantly about how Naomi Campbell bullied her. I wonder if that shaped her into who she is today or if she would've been like this regardless of the pressure cooker of the modeling world.

I was really sad that Mr Mok cared more about the "violent photoshoot" than about someone getting raped.

Anyways, as I was reviewing comments about this show, I saw mention of another doc coming out Mar 11, from some of the other women who weren't included. So i'll be watching for that.

Will this one air on Netflix as well??

I'm not sure, it's an e! special from dirty rotten scoundrels, which I believe in the past did air on netflix.
