+1 They all knew full well how awful they were being, and the effect it had. They enjoyed it. Maybe not Nigel? He's not an idiot though. It's why Jay Manuel wanted to quit around cycle 9; it was weighing on him. But then he kept at it for years and years more. He tells how they pressured him to do another season and took all of his power away, which I'm sure was true, but then he stayed on for years, not just one more season. |

He said he didn’t want to be blacklisted. Here’s the thing, maybe he would have been “done” in LA or NYC, but then you can move to another city and basically be THE celebrity makeup artist. He could have set up an amazing practice in any other major city. But what he wanted was NYC/LA level fame and money. He wanted it more than he wanted to be a good person. He wanted it more than he wanted to be true to his own conscience. So I feel for him a little bit, but come on: there’s not enough money in the WORLD that would make me treat Keenya like that; making her feel fat, and then not listening to her when she was speaking up about being sexually harassed, on camera, in real time, in front of his face. They all sold their soul. Tyra is just more obvious about it. |

I've made it through two out of the three episodes and honestly, I'm not sure if I can stomach another minute of Tyra's smug face when she's asked to defend her actions. The whole thing is grotesque. I feel ashamed of myself for watching ANTM in real time when it first aired, and how much I enjoyed it.  Watching these clips now, I'm horrified.

More like: Jay: I started to get a backbone to stand up against damaging behavior and so I said I was done! (Actions show not done and not further discussing new found morality). I was then shoved into a minor role and fired. Miss J: i was fired but got flowers beforehand. My old boss has yet to reach out. Nigel: Tyra: The bad things done were not my call/decision or a result of the times. Every change in the industry since is a result of the show!! I’m still doing important things now! |

Not really the point of the post you’re responding to. He has manipulated his face to add fat and it changed his attractive, angular bone structure to make him look like a character on The Addams Family. He’s 53…that’s not “living long enough…” |
