Why do I get the sense you are a bitter Marylander who is just trying to troll Virginia parents? |
| You can't be serious |
+1 Louder for the twits in the back. People are laughing behind their backs when they hear them refer to their kids' school as "Public Ivies, Little Ivies," etc. |
That's not what the PP was saying. Reading is fundamental. |
You simply have no self-control, do you? |
|
If you live in Northern VA it is significantly more difficult to get into UVA, Tech W&M and JMU. There is a higher volume of qualified students in this area than in the rest of the state so there a large number of overachievers which creates a numbers issue. They will only take a limited number of qualified students from this area so many deserving students are rejected.
It’s been this way for years. Another reality is out of state students pay more and provide valued geographic diversity. |
Public Ivy has been a term used by college counselors since 1985. See Wikipedia. Get a grip and stop heckling ; you look like idiots. |
I'm not the one who looks like an idiot here, sweetie. weird how you cling to this term. does it make you feel better? |
I went to an actual Ivy so I think I'll be fine, thank you. I tried to save you from looking ridiculous but some people can't be helped. Carry on. I'll keep snickering as will others who are not insecure. |
+1 I wouldn’t say my kid “goes to a public Ivy” IRL but I find them helpful groupings when researching colleges to help ID other schools with really high academic standards. |
What is PP saying? I'll correct you. |
“actual Ivy” LOL |
Lol - that isn't a thing. Just click bait. |
It seems that you are the insecure one. |
lol WIkIpEdiA Someone made up the phrase to sell books to insecure people. Old timey click bait. |
