| ^exactly Georgetown grads simply don’t donate. |
You can think it’s ludicrous, but that doesn’t make it any less true. Georgetown was late to the game on fundraising. Compound annual growth over decades is what builds massive endowments. |
Anyone who has worked in higher ed advancement/development for the past 20-30 years can confirm this. Georgetown was way late in setting itself up for fundraising success in ways that would have compared with its peer or aspirational schools. |
| if they cared about me more when I was a student they might get more of my money now that I'm out. |
| John Mulaney actually has a great bit on being asked to donate to Georgetown after paying tuition. |
| Out of curiosity, what stats are required for serious consideration for admission? Is 3.7 unweighted too low with a high SAT? |
Probably, but it depends on the school and the course load rigor. Georgetown really likes high test scores, so for RD, a 1570+ with very strong service-oriented ECs might make the cut despite the 3.7. |
Yes, from most schools. |
You sound like a nutcase. |
| Gtown has horrible on campus athletic facilities, more like a high school. |
| Very good Catholic school but way behind Notre Dame. Poorly financed but more prestigious than Holy Cross and no other Catholic school competition. |
| I’ve seen posts before explaining why Georgetown’s endowment is so low and my reaction is “who cares why?” What matters is that it’s low. Too low. |
I think they are around 4 billions this year - compared to 2020 where it was not even 2 billions. Yes, it's lower due to late start but I think they progress well. Check this: https://datausa.io/profile/university/georgetown-university , data is only up to 2023. |
| The problem with Georgetown is that so many of the grads are jackasses. It's a decent school but it's not exactly elite. |
