Great kid, should interview well. But now very concerned because it was so short.

My son got in and his interview was 30 min max and the interviewer talked more than he did. Don’t worry about time

Thanks to you and the PP. Glad to hear that we shouldn’t worry about the short interview.

very religious

Not our impression at all. Plenty of non-Catholics attend.

Sure but if a college is REQUIRING my DS/DD to take "The Problem of God" (THEO-1000) or "Introduction to Biblical Literature" (THEO-1100), we're NOT going there.

As an optional course, sure do what you want to offer.

I went to Georgetown SFS.

You have no idea what you’re talking about when it comes to how they handle religion and those classes.

The curriculum for Problem of God is determined by each professor. My professor chose to teach us about the religious justifications used by terrorists. Others taught about the history of atheism.

I also took a class on comparative Judeo-Christian theology taught by a Rabbi, Priest, and an Imam.

Not once did ANYONE at Georgetown push Catholicism.

Was the class held at the Tombs? "True story...A rabbi, a priest and an imam walk into a bar..."

What’s the first choice school?

Must be Notre Dame or MIT -- the only other top schools that allow multiple REAs at private universities.

My son also got in and had a short interview. Good luck!

You will be surprised that not many kids actually read the EA requirements at GU. Several we know actually ED somewhere else.

Do most premeds apply to school of health or arts and sciences?

We are local so I assume my DS won’t want to apply. Actually, I hope so because my DH went there and despises it as an institution.

My son looked at this a lot before he applied to school of health. There are pros and cons. The pros are a smaller major with very supportive staff that knows a lot about how to get the kids the research and recommendations you need for medical school applications. It is a very close knit group. They also save you spots in chem and bio so you don't have trouble getting the classes you need. A slam dunk if you ask me.
On the other hand, you are required to take very specific courses on a specific schedule. CAS don't have to take a treacherous research class first semester (I actually don't think they have to take it at all). School of health also requires chem and bio the first semester - whereas some prefer to ease in with one of the two as they adjust to college life, which can be done in CAS.

I think acceptance rates are similar - both to get into Georgetown and to get into Med School.
