Wrong again. Unless you call you're constant name-calling and belittling of others' posts "serious discussion." I am a long time fan of Notre Dame football, but despise childish behavior and cowardice. Yes, ND would probably lose to BYU in a bowl game this year based on ND football's reaction to failing to make the 12 team cut for the CFP. Seems like ND football has grossly overestimated its value to the current college football environment. ND football is becoming irrelevant--even justifiably so based on its reaction to the CFP results. Notre Shame. |
LOL that will never happen. And why would ND play BYU? None of their seniors who are going to the NFL will play. It wouldn't be the actual team. Bowl games are meaningless, and in this case, especially meaningless. BYU was embarrassed and wants to redeem itself. ND doesn't need that...they had an amazing season. |
No legit ND fan would write this crap. |
|
This is very "I'm taking my ball and going home behavior"
Just because you write your own schedule doesn't mean you can predict the playoffs. ND should have been in, but they were on the bubble the whole time and it was never guaranteed. You want to keep decision out of the committees hands, you join a conference and win it. If all you care about is winning the National title, there are plenty of "it doesn't matter" games. The Pop Tart bowl would be one, but Indiana played a game on Saturday that didn't matter one bit as far as the national title goes, and it was thrilling. It's what college sports are all about. |
| There is one person to blame for the implosion of college sports and the NIL mess is Grant House. House was a mediocre swimmer at ASU who put his name on the NIL lawsuit. For about fifty thousand dollars of after tax money he destroyed D1 college sports. The dope did it for leveling the playing field for college athletes and unintentionally turned college football and basketball into an arms race. |
Well, you're wrong again. I am a Notre Dame football fan, but I also detest childish behavior & cowardice. You keep bragging about ND football's great class of recruits. Fine,. I agree. But, I wonder why, based on ND football's weak schedule, why ND football needs this caliber of football recruits. Times have changed regarding college football and change is still occurring. Let Notre Dame football engage in its chest thumping boisterous stance about being independent. Well, maybe Notre Dame football is too good for the SEC, too good for the Big Ten, too good for the ACC, too good for the Big 12, and too good to be evaluated before being offered a CFP slot. If ND football is too handsome for every girl in town, then don't go to the prom (and then cry about it in public). Notre Shame needs a new athletic director. Get someone with some guts, courage, and integrity. |
This x1000. If one of my children acted like Notre Dame, in an athletic context, I would never spend another dime on sports for them. In our family, no matter how bad your team might be, you made a commitment and you better see it through to the end with maximum effort. |
You have serious issues. You are hovering over this thread waiting to jump in and pounce on every post with the same tired and over the top response. You're clearly not an ND fan. You're clearly not even, well, normal. You're a troll. |
In favor of Notre Dame is the fact that ND football closed out its season with 2 wins againt two 3win-7losses teams (Syracuse & Stanford). In fact, ND football is so good that it trounced hapless Syracuse by a score of 70 to 7. Real klassi. |
This is the issue. As a big college football fan who is decidedly NOT a fan of Alabama or Notre Dame, it is clear to the rest of us that both of those teams get a lot of extra votes in the AP and Coaches polls due to bias or nostalgia or possibly even habit. So to have the edge come down to which team that is used to having an unearned advantage in these polls getting a playoff spot over the other is both ridiculous and kind of fun to watch. Personally I'd like to see more undefeated teams from the far reaches of nowhere get a chance at a Cinderella story than a 2-conference loss Alabama that is going nowhere in the playoffs but needs to be included every year no matter what because . . . something something SEC. |

Go Bucks! Screw Lou Holtz!
Lace Irish curtains up in South Bend getting sensitive as always. |
| The bogus decision was leaving Alabama right where they were despite losing. No other conference title game loser has ever not dropped at least one spot |
Well, I stayed at the Morriss Inn on Notre Dame's campus. And I have watched ND football for many decades. Regardless, Notre Dame football and its AD should be ashamed of their reaction to not making the cut for the CFP. U Miami & U Alabama are legitimate CFP teams, and Notre Dame would have been invited if the CFP had more than 12 teams. Sorry that I don't meet your standard for being a fan of Notre Dame football, but ND football thinks that it is above the rest of the teams and conferences in the country and cannot understand or deal with, rejection by a playoff system that ND's athletic director helped create. Seems pretty childish to me. Maybe the ND AD can do a better job of rigging the CFP system system so that ND football's macho independence will have some positive meaning beyond greed and an inflated sense of self-importance. |
Because people are responding to the incessant whining of boosters and )incredibly) the coach and AD. This isn't, or shouldn't be, hard to understand. |
LOL this latest response just confirms my assessment of you. You're a broken record. |
