How Important Was Immigration in the 2024 Election? By June 2024, “immigration” was the second most important issue among the nearly 1,600 U.S. adults polled by The Economist/YouGov that month, trailing only “inflation/prices”. Given that Trump won the popular vote by just 1.6 percentage points (49.9 percent for the Trump/Vance ticket compared to 48.3 percent for Harris/Walz), the fact that Trump did so well with swing voters was key to his victory. Among total swing voters who ultimately chose Trump, immigration was a key issue, with 77 percent of them believing that it was “extremely” or “very accurate” to say Democrats are “not tough enough on addressing the border crisis” and 73 percent feeling the same way about Democrats “support[ing] immigrants more than American citizens”. Moreover, 73 percent of Trump-supporting swing voters thought it was either extremely or very accurate to state that Democrats “want to take money from hard-working Americans and give it to immigrants”, 72 percent of them believed it is fair to think Democrats “don’t care about securing the border”, and 69 percent concurred with the statement that Democrats “have extreme ideas about immigration”. Please please , start pushing Democrats to advocate for policies US voters WANT!!! https://cis.org/Arthur/How-Important-Was-Immigration-2024-Election |
What other country allows this? I'm a nurse who wants a fresh start. Should I pick up and move to Japan? I don't speak much Japanese and my kids none at all but that's the schools problem. After all, they need my labor. Also the school can't celebrate any traditional Japanese festivals anymore because it makes my kids feel left out. Hire more teachers if it's a hassle. My kids are just as important as theirs. |
PP here. I'm a Harris voter who can't stand Trump. Nonetheless , I know more than a few Trump voters who do not hate those individuals you described. Their votes were due to their concerns about weak consequences for crime (no bail, low bail, repeat offenders) and lax enforcement when millions were immigrating here without documentation. |
Where do you reside? Do you have kids in a public school that's comprised of majority Title 1 eligible students who immigrated here with very limited English speaking skills? |
obviously they do NOT live near a title one school. come to Sterling Middle School in sterling Virginia. come to Parkview High School in sterling Virginia. see what the Democrats' immigration policies have created. Much like the United States's southern border, it's Loudoun's border with Fairfax County that causes problems where MS-13 in concerned (although the gang has spread into other Loudoun communities). Sterling, Virginia, which sits right on that border, has become the Loudoun County epicenter for MS-13 gang activity. Last October, 18-year-old Marlyn Medrano-Ortiz, a known MS-13 gang member and illegal alien was arrested for a double-murder in Sterling. https://redstate.com/terichristoph/2025/03/27/exclusive-dc-area-sheriff-issues-ominous-warning-to-ms-13-gangbangers-following-arrest-of-their-leader-n2187188 |
The new Japanese fascist female PM doesn't want you or any other foreigners. In fact she cant stop yapping her mouth and picking at old wounds with all of Imperial Japan's neighbors. |

Loudoun County School Board gives $40K+ raise to Superintendent Aaron Spence
LEESBURG, Va. (7News) — Loudoun County Superintendent Aaron Spence is set to get a $40,000 plus pay bump this month. This increase will bring Spence's salary close to $420,000 this year. https://wjla.com/news/local/loudoun-county-school-board-superintendent-aaron-spence-40k-raise-bonus-salary-420000-pay-increase-bump-performance-evaluation-travel-contract |
Not that newsworthy. Superintendents are mostly worthless and for some reason get paid a lot of money to do PR work. There are 1000s of them around the country and they're all overpaid. |
Why did they arrest 150 illegal immigrant sex offenders in Florida today? Why were they even in our country? |
They deserve a second chance. |
Very newsworthy. I'll bet there's a dozen right around him that are paid close to that. Meanwhile, I keep hearing how underfunded the schools and "poor children" are. If you wanna make that kind of money, go be a public beach lifeguard in California and colelct a half-a-million salary a year.
Things have gotten way-the-f**k out-of-control. |
Not in our country, they don't. |
Sex offenses against children? I think not. |
Sarcasm |
If there are all these MS-13 gangbangers there then why isn't ICE there, rather than hassling maids and short order cooks and other decent hard working people in communities that don't have MS-13? Fail. |
