He needs an interpreter but allowed to drive? Can't read road signage or understand English but ok to be driving a commercial vehicle? |

Wait a second. This doesn't even make sense. News articles are reporting that he entered the United States in March of 2022. According to the inmate locater of San Bernardino Sheriff his birthdate is: 10/15/2004
So in March 2022 he would have been 17 years and 5 months. How does someone so young who doesn't speak English get a commercial driver's license? The minimum age to drive a regular car in India is 18. And what company hires someone so young. You can't even rent a car if you are under 21 and some places won't rent cars to people under 25. I find it hard to believe he legitimately got a Commercial Drivers License. |
14.6 million jobs outsourced from the US as of 2022. Immigrants have nothing to do with that. And as for H1B, that's 171 outsourced jobs for ever H1b position. It's also nearly double the number of undocumented immigrants in the work force (even before Trump's raids started). As for crime, undocumented immigrants have lower crime rates than either citizens or legal immigrants--it's been said many times, but it's not only true, the easiest way to confirm it is with Texas data since they record the citizenship or immigration status of everyone arrested. Nobody is actually crawling out from under your kitchen sink to rape your daughter. They aren't getting free healthcare like you think. Or food stamps. Or filling out ballots. Most come from cultures with more conservative social values than Americans--more likely to be anti-abortion, less tolerance for gays and trans people. They are also less likely than citizens or legal residents to be arrested for drunk driving or drug crimes or to experience overdoses. so, what are the 90% |
the law requires ANY commercial driver to be able to read English, regardless of your own language (ie an English speaking citizen is still supposed to be able to read). Reading not required for non-commercial licenses. But it is certainly possible to be able to read a language at a sufficient level for something like driving and still require an interpreter for spoken communication. I can read Spanish ok but conversation I am pretty hopeless at. |

They are getting free healthcare in many states like California. Almost every immigrant legal or not is eligible. CA spent last year 8.5 Billion on Health Care for undocumented children, adults, and elderly. They are eligible for medi-cal which is the state run Medicaid program in CA. And qualified immigrants are getting food stamps. |
If it's skilled work and we have qualified workers who need those jobs, we should tax the outsourcers to disincentivize them. |
