Did the immigrants get the NIH research on pediatric brain cancer cancelled. Please provide cites so I can share with parents. |
What? I have yet to see a single person backed by big business come out for a living wage. Don't be fooled by the (Very Few) Americans for (Just Our) Prosperity BS. |
Because? |
Because Big Tech like other industries want butts in seats in their offices, not in your home. That can be in India or somewhere in the States. |
What? Seriously, what? |
This may be one of my fave DCUM replies ever though I'm not even certain of the angle here. |
Yes! So folks, go and pick all your berries, fruits, and veggies, then get back to us. I grew up doing that. There's a reason why I'm no longer on the farm. |
How about this: Immigrants (the people) are NOT the problem. Mass immigration/migration (the policy, the event, whatever) leading to lower wages and other issues IS a problem. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. And hate the people in charge who kept screwing up the game and not protecting US citizens’ interests. |
DP. Gosh you are stupid. Maybe PP’s son simply does not want to work like a slave. There is nothing wrong with that. |
Bet he doesn't have kids in a school where teachers spend much of their time assisting 50% or more of their kids with English while other kids wait for science, history, and social studies lessons to proceed. Those kids are hardworking, well behaved, and precious; but don't pretend there's no impact on learning. |
It doesn’t really matter any more. Even “legal” immigrants if there are too many of them can cause a lot of problems. |

U.S. companies have announced over 1.1 million job cuts in 2025 – the highest since the dot-com bust. October alone saw 153,074 layoffs, the most for any October in over 20 years. AI adoption, automation, and rising costs are driving cuts across technology, warehousing, and other sectors. Seasonal hiring plans are the lowest since tracking began in 2012. Newly laid-off Americans face a diminished hiring environment, with companies announcing the fewest hiring plans since 2011.
Yet we continue importing more than one million new foreign workers annually through legal immigration, with chain migration driving a significant portion. President Trump has stopped illegal entries and is enforcing immigration laws, but only Congress can end chain migration. Where are democrats?? Why do they push for more and more immigration?? |
Agree Tech billionaires game the system to bring in too many of the workers we don't need (H1B) causing problems for the American STEM workforce that DOES what those jobs. Meanwhile, we don't give enough visas for the workers that we do need, for jobs that Americans DON'T want, like agriculture, meat packing, cleaning etc. It's a problem manufactured by bad policy. |
Trump didn't "stop illegal entries" - they are still happening, but at a lower rate than they were. And what do you mean, "where are the Democrats?" Maybe you forgot you voted to put Republicans in charge, so it's on them to do it. Some Republicans have talked about legislation to limit chain migration, and some Democrat support do support reforms, but where the Republicans go wrong is by trying to make it too narrow, like not allowing sponsorship of parents or siblings, and when they tie their legislation to other MAGA nonsense that no Democrat will get behind. Also, some of the Republican proposals have other problems, like if a parent did get a visa sponsored by a naturalized child, the parent's visa would bar the parent from being able to work, which makes little sense to me. |
