In 2026 us news ranks bc business 32nd. Bloomberg ranks it in high 40s. Hardly top 10. Nice try.

What do you mean by tough? And why independent?

I'm the PP. By tough, I mean the people and the environment. The people aren't necessarily friendly, I found it cliquey and hard to break into. I was taught to look at people in the eye, greet people, etc - people there just look past you.

That’s why they’re called M@ssholes.

Boston’s a tough town - you’ve got to want it, be pretty independent and able to figure it out on your own. With the exception of BC, which might be more of a cohesive campus, these campuses don’t offer a traditional experience. DH describes it as Darwinian (he went to BU), and after living there a few years personally, that’s pretty accurate. He did not enjoy his time at BU at all.

Then there’s the weather.

How is Boston a tough town? I have never gotten that vibe. Apart from the drivers.

It’s a dog-eat-dog world out here! Folks up in NH call us M*ssh*les. When I moved here, everyone and their mother tried to scam me. Folks are very entitled, rude and condescending. I need to move. 😂

You must be a moron if people were scamming you. People in Boston don't have time for that, or you. And nobody gives a F what New Hampshire residents think. Half of them work in MA and the other half are screaming about "don't Mass up New Hampshire" and voting against their best interests from their trailer park.

Textbook M@sshole response!

Since about 98% of students can’t get in to the 25 on the top of the list the Boston schools are excellent, a better fit for a lot of students.

SEC schools are much easier to get into and built in entertainment with the football games. It’s a different vibe that’s for sure.

SEC football games! Thanks for reminding me. I forgot that the SEC schools used to be pretty good in football.

Do you live in some sort of a paralell universe?

In 2025 US News had BC undergrad finance & analytics in top 10.

Since the premise of every one one of these threads that pop up twice a week is factually incorrect, it is just hard to know what to say.

DMV wimps can't deal with cold and snow. Rather send them south to party.

BC, BU, and Northeastern are not nearly as good as Tufts.

Mediocre Boston schools at $95k for kids that can’t get into good schools.

This is stupid. Ranked higher yes. BU which I dislike and BC are both very popular and "desired".

OK --- not mediocre. Top shelf. Not as top as Harvard but BC is elite, BU is very solid, and people loke NEU.

It's not 1980s anymore.
Wake the F up.

Elite schools are top 10-15. BC on a good day is ranked in high 30s right up there with UIllinois. Save money and enjoy good sports and weather at SEC schools. Nice school but not elite by any means.
