No one of the Boston schools were very appealing to my MCPS kid even though she really liked Boston as a town.

She did apply to MIT and NEU but neither were top choices because of poor fit.

A lot of mediocre low hanging fruit in flyover land vs. Boston... sorry but nobody went to Ohio State College Park or any southern college (coming from CT) unless it was Emory UNC UVA Vanderbilt or Tulane...and some of our rich moron friends went to Rollins or Stetson.

Was she accepted? Because MIT has it all. Beautiful new buildings including a theatre, high end gym. Olympic size pool, underground tunnels that connect the buildings, buses and subway right there, city skyline looking at Boston across the river.

Everyone already knows about the academics and the type of students the school attracts. What exactly was a poor fit?
