| Overpriced safety schools with poor weather. |
You don't get your own facts. While BU sucks it is popular. As is BC. |
cheers |
| Go to an instate flagship for $32k or 400 miles away for $100k, for one. |
| So many schools in Boston or 'burbs of Boston - Not usually mentioned here -Emerson, Simmons, Brandeis, Babson, Emmanuel, Olin College of Engineering, Suffolk and more |
| It’s too cold (insert whiny voice). |
| What about Tufts? |
Curious |
Why go to instate flagship for $45k a year, when first two years of community college is practically free? |
I disagree with your premise, OP. Obviously students tend to overwhelmingly apply to schools in their region. But the Boston schools have more out-of-state/out-of-region applicants than any other city. |
NP. I’m from the Boston area and Amherst is not considered to be Boston area here. |
My NOVA kid applied to UMD, Ohio (St.), BU and NEU so not really understanding your question. |
We can tell you are an Amherst alum because you feel the need to say you are an Amherst alum. Without your revealing your bona fides, we would have no idea whether what you are saying is true. |
| New England doesn’t have the same appeal to many of today’s college students as it did 30-40 years ago. I love New England but the reality is that the “typical” UMC full-pay college student is just as likely to attend an SEC school now. |
