They do! I know at least 20 plus people child's year that applied to Boston College. Only a few were accepted.

BC and Tufts are not safety schools. They are tied in ranking at #36. Both have admissions of less than 15%

I guess it is who you go around with? I do not know a single person's child that applied to UMD, UGA, or Ohio? Are you at public schools? I am just curious how there can be such a discrepancy.

Tufts is a decent school that’s lost a little luster. BC, BU, and Northeastern overpriced appeal to kids that can’t get into top 25 privates. Flagships offer better value especially SEC ones.

Boston’s a tough town - you’ve got to want it, be pretty independent and able to figure it out on your own. With the exception of BC, which might be more of a cohesive campus, these campuses don’t offer a traditional experience. DH describes it as Darwinian (he went to BU), and after living there a few years personally, that’s pretty accurate. He did not enjoy his time at BU at all.

Then there’s the weather.

How is Boston a tough town? I have never gotten that vibe. Apart from the drivers.

Happy to report back that DC transferred as a sophomore and made the Dean list, despite the BU grade deflation. No more party and drinking every night as at the top big state public. Made a core group of good friends, domestic and international, too.

It’s a dog-eat-dog world out here! Folks up in NH call us M*ssh*les. When I moved here, everyone and their mother tried to scam me. Folks are very entitled, rude and condescending. I need to move. 😂

Texas, UFlorida, and UGA are better choices than those 3 Boston schools.

You must be a moron if people were scamming you. People in Boston don't have time for that, or you. And nobody gives a F what New Hampshire residents think. Half of them work in MA and the other half are screaming about "don't Mass up New Hampshire" and voting against their best interests from their trailer park.

Why go to instate flagship for $45k a year, when first two years of community college is practically free?

Is that what you and your student(s) did?

Nope. Just pointing out the fallacy of the argument. Next in order would be why go to community college when becoming an electrician's apprentice is even cheaper...

Fallacy does not mean what you think it means. Check a dictionary or ask AI to explain it to you.

+1.. “community college” poster is just wasting everyone’s time.

It's a stupid statement.

Boston business school is ranked top 10 - and it is a top 15 school for internships in finance and Wall Street
