| And for CS (world rankings) https://csrankings.org/#/fromyear/2020/toyear/2025/index?all&world |
| Companies don't recruit universities, they recruit students. There are probably 20 better UVA candidates than Yale candidates for a specific job. That Yale degree in gender studies won't matter. |
| Yeah I am hoping any HR dad or mom here comments on this as well |
Probably better to hear from people who actually understand the complex economy |
yet Yale and other ivies/T10 have better job outcomes over UVA, across sectors |
That might be true. But each non-T5 has something really strong to offer. Pick the one that suits you best. Of course all T10 are in general all around strong. Penn: Wharton Northwestern: Journalism/Communication JHU: Medicine Chicago: Econ |
| So essentially it is still about the majors not the schools. |
+1 these posters know nothing about college education. They're shopping for the best tennis shoe brand. It's tedious. |
Are you sure about that? What is a "better job" for any given person? |
No, why include Vandy and Rice but not these schools. That doesn't make sense. |
| Should Columbia be considered a T10 school? Or not sure? |
Does it make sense to go to Harvard over MIT or CMU for a career in tech? |
LOL ! You really need to get out more. |
of course not. columbia was never T10 they were inflated from lies rigging the rankings |
Some of it has to do with where their graduates end up. Stanford---SV is one of the most expensive places to live and salaries are commensurate. MIT---Boston is also ridiculously priced, higher salaries abound. Princeton--likely to end up in NYC. Take that away and then let me know how much higher it really is |
