Here's why this is racist. There are many Indian-Canadians...yet the meme seems to imply that the only Canadian in the photo is the white woman. For all I know, she's American.

The meme relies on bigoted, race-based assumptions to work. As a non-white American, I find stuff like this dangerous and terror inducing.

It's not terror inducing for immigration and its consequences to be a matter of public discussion. You look at that picture and think it's about race because the leftist brain stops computing once it hits skin deep. I look at that picture and think it is about immigration policies and the fact that most nations try to import people from a mix of regions in order to preserve the native culture and ensure assimilation of immigrants. That's the issue in Canada right now. They aren't opposed to Indians, they are opposed to the rate of immigration from one nation and its cultural consequences. And yes. Nations, including western ones, have a right to explicitly work to preserve their culture.

On what are you basing the perception that it's about immigration? Plenty on Canadians look like the people in that picture.

I'm American, born in Detroit, and I look like the people in that picture. Yet somehow all the people who claim not to care about race, only immigration, assume i'm not American. I wonder why.

Stop being cute. The canadian population looked one way 20 years ago and a different way now. They didn't spontaneously turn Indian looking. They had a change in immigration policies that has brought in a 1000% increase in Indian immigrants since 2014. Okay, stop doing this "I don't see color" routine when it comes to immigration. We both look at this picture and know that it is all ethnically southwest Asian people and one ethnically white person and that it may have something to do with all the college age Indian males that have immigrated to Canada. All this garbage about race is just a way to dodge the fact that these policies suppress wages for the native population.

I'm not being "cute". You said leftists only see race while you see immigration. I said, you are conflating race and immigration and pretending you only care about one of them. I somehow imagine that you'd see it as less of an issue if the immigrants were all white Americans.

Personally, I prefer immigration from diverse cultures and populations. Partially because it makes me feel more at home in the country of my birth. People like Stephen Miller DGAF what I think though, because they barely view me as American.

White native Americans felt exactly the same as you do in the early part of the century when foreigners were migrating into the country at a rapid pace. Most of those foreigners were white as well but nativists STILL found ways to discriminate against them (“Irish need not apply” etc). It’s a story as old as this country.

It looks like we've found a point of agreement: that cultures have inherent value and that its not only morally permissible for communities to protect their cultures, it's also morally REQUIRED for governments to do so. The native Americans were absolutely in the right to defend themselves and their territory. When they lost, they were 100% correct to negotiate sovereign territory and exempt themselves from laws rooted in culture like bans on hunting certain animals. They didn't do this because they hated the invaders for being white. I think you know that, even if you won't say it, that the native Americans weren't engaged in a race war. Not. Every. Thing. Is. Race. And using race like a shield to avoid discussion about the economics of immigration is pathetic.

You are responding to multiple people. And, no, the reason Native Americans fought the colonists was not to protect their culture. It was to protect themselves from people who were stealing their land and killing them!

Regardless is immigration a cultural issue for you? Or an economic one? At least be consistent in your close-mindedness.

NP. The fact that you don’t feel at home in the country of your birth unless more people LOOK like you demonstrates that this is about race for you. Maybe go live in a country where people look like you, and stop supporting policies that fundamentally change the culture of my country.

Here's a taste of Temu Goebbels's Goebbeleseque speech at the Charlie Kirk memorial:

Stephen Miller has attacked and vilified and demonized and dehumanized more than half of America. He has attacked:

Everyone on the left
Journalists and media institutions
Academia
Federal employees
Anyone not born in America
Muslims
Latinos
LGBTQ
Civil Rights advocates
NGOs
and on and on.

He has a lot of gall to play the victim and accuse anyone of "marking" people when he's made that his entire career in the Trump White House.

Anyone siding with Miller here is a dishonest and unserious person.

I'm a rando who believes everything that I wrote, as many people on the right do- we are becoming very concerned about left wing terrorism and the dehumanizing rhetoric (calling everyone Hitler, Nazi, fascist, etc) that appears to be fueling the violence. No one is a fascist, no one is going to trap you in the US (trust me, youre welcome to leave), no one is going to kill you or put you in a concentration camp. So don't kill us, please. Good night.

It is hilarious but unsurprising that the only point you engage on the merits is that you are way too hot to ever f Miller. How about taking on the argument that Miller himself and MAGAs in general have been using this “targeting” language for YEARS. But you are all sooooooo scared now. Give me a break.

The funny thing about this photo is that she's not white. She's Asian too.

lol dude. Who is engaging masked thugs to kidnap hardworking people and send them to gulags? Maybe stop acting fascist and you’ll stop being called that.

Okay, so your position is that a policeman covering his face is just like murdering 6 million people and starting a world war.

It's like you guys have never spent a day outside the US in your life. Police overseas, including Europe where you all want to move, routinely wear masks for similar operations. Calm down.

It’s not NOT fascism tho.

Covering your face isn't fascism. It may not be the best community policing practice, but it's not a signal that we are about to have a West Germany style break with the western world. Who, by the way, allow their police to cover their faces in similar circumstances.

"Similar circumstances" is doing a lot of work here. Perhaps since you are so knowledgeable about the policing practices in other parts of the world you could procide some evidence of this.

Wow, this came out of nowhere! Where do you get "prefer people who look like [me]" from "prefer immigration from diverse cultures and populations".

Also, it's my country too...

Anonymous wrote:Yes, I mean just look at this thread. He's called a white supremacist, a fascist, etc. None of which is true, but this is what the left does- stochastic terrorism that leads to real violence.

No - violence is what you on the right do. It's what you worship. Your guns and acting like tough guys, itching to beat someone down. You can't imagine that other people can point out wrongdoing and not immediately go to a response of shooting someone. That impulse is YOUR PATHOLOGY - stop projecting YOUR SICK gun fetishes and love of violence onto other people who are doing the right thing - calling out fascism, racism, sexism etc.

Democrats are calling out what they see - accurately- and sounding the alarm bells - rightly - for our country. Trump and Miller and their cronies want to dismantle our democracy. To not call this out, to not shout to the hilltops about what is happening - is what would be wrong. It would be the good men doing nothing.

Miller and Trump gaslight and you go along with it and spread it. Because your heart is black and shooting people is what you want to do.

Well, the rest of us aren't sick f***s. We use words and protests and votes.

Any human woman is out of his league so that doesn’t prove anything.

That said there is so much focus on controlling rhetoric if the other side and none on the fact that neither Trump nor his policies are particularly popular right now based on available polling data. You care more about not getting your little feelings hurt than the fact that the ultra-MAGA soybean farmers have seen their business permanently destroyed by tariffs. Time to toughen up, buttercup.

Ma'am. I haven't mentioned anything about soybeans and also don't have any strong feelings about soybeans. I'm being quite transparent that I am concerned about violent rhetoric on the left. You don't want to engage with that idea, probably because it is damping of the left's current strategy, so you want to talk about popularity, soybeans, and tariffs. Go start another thread. This is about all the assassinations the left is planning because everyone who doesn't agree with them is Hitler.

Calling someone a fascist who is acting like a fascist is not violent rhetoric. It is an accurate description of the actions of this administration. And right now calling these things out are completely necessary.

If YOU think that calling someone a fascist is equivalent to saying, "hey, somebody better shoot that guy" then the person who needs therapy and perhaps some time in an institution to calm down is YOU. Normal people can discuss things like fascism without thinking about killing people. But you RWNJs are itching to commit violence and you assume everyone else is as disgusting and without morals or decency as you are.

Nope. You are the problem here. Miller and Trump are the problem here. Stop gaslighting to allow them to steamroll this democracy.
