That's a truly capitalist take on it for sure. But this "most efficient" use of resources is artificial for sure, and that's why it hasn't worked unregulated (or lightly regulated as it's been historically). It pushes down wages and creates an "indentured servitude" for the population that relies on these to stay in the country. Do you not believe that part is clear? |
Far better educated? |
| Support this! Too many abuses in the H1B process. US citizens new college/master graduates can't get a job while H1B foreigners got jobs, not becasue they are better (they are NOT), but becasue those people are willing to accept very low salaries. |
No they’re not better educated. Instead Indians are far more desperate for job opportunities their country is unable to provide. Tech jobs are a loophole they have been exploiting for many years. If they fail to obtain H1B, they come illegally thru southern borders or over stay their student visas. It’s time to deport these folks. |
|
This has been abused for years. I do think this is a step in the right direction.
There’s also abuse in the medical side too. Hospitals are saying there’s not enough doctors and nurses but have you tried getting into these programs? So many college students get locked out because there aren’t spots. And then hospitals hire from overseas where the new doctors don’t have $100-$200k in student loans and can take lower paying specialties. It’s like we’re setting our students up for failure. They can’t get in and when they do they’re saddled with heavy student loans. |
| The number of residency spots need to be increased. The American Medical Association (AMA) actively lobbies for limits on residency spots. That needs to change. There is a huge demand for 7 or 8 year direct medical admissions programs and students are clamoring to get into these. |
| If they are so good let the employer pay an extra 100k for them |
|
Heard TACO folded again. LOL
|
Majority of IMG doctors get J1 visa and hospitals aren't capped for H1B anyways so they should be okay. |
You did not read Project 2025 idiot. This will not change unemployment rates at all. |
| Big companies who transfer employees internationally, often use L1 visa. H1B is usually for new recruits. |
| Unlike Melania Trump, everyone isn't eligible for Einstein visa. |
Wow not so for me! Things might have changed. Came here on F1 30+ years ago, got a job on OPT, company sponsored H1, extension and green card. I know that I was not paid as much as some others, but I had a racist jerk of a boss. My husband who followed the sane path as me did very well financially. He was not taken advantage of at all. |
Unless its backdated why would people have to leave? Worst case, they can take pay cuts or go back and kids can come back on their own once they are 18. |
Call other people "idiot" only says you are the real idiot! I don't care about what project 2025 says. It is a fact that US citizens' jobs have been taken by H1Bs whose only advantage is they accept lower salaries. This only benefits greedy coporations, not American people. |
