It's almost like ^PP thinks their ancestors built this country all by themselves and were special but not today's immigrants. |
What part of the goverment shut down do you not understand? Senate , House, and Presidency owned by Republcians Economies accross the US the worst ten bottom economies owned by Republcians Biden is not President. Biden had low unemployement. Unemployment growing like weeds under trump fools! If you think that POS who has over 100 companies that he started and bankrupted and hurt hard working Americans in the process ie never paid one contractor who has done work for him is qualified to breathe the air of the US you are Anti American to your core! |
You don't need to be bright to not want your country and culture to change. Not everything is about intelligence and competition. I know that might be difficult for you to understand. |
LOL Enjoy the next 4 years! I am just happy with what you must be going through now. Loving it. |
We all come from the African rift Valley and we're immigrants at some point. My ancestors set up the government that provides the framework to what america has become. You can do the same in your own country. |
Immigrants, as a general category, settled and developed all of the Americas. However, we have to consider the different outcomes of these settlements and eventually countries. The colonists of North America were mostly Protestants from northern europe. The colonists of South America were mostly Catholics from Spain. Here's my point - the colonists of the Philippines were also Catholics from Spain. South America and the Philippines aren't exactly known for being well governed, rule abiding and the values of their people don't seem to prioritize investing in their human capital. Not all immigrant groups share the same cultural values and characteristics. The immigrants who colonized and developed North America were significantly different from those of South America. |
Whoa, you're missing some significant confounding factors. The English colonists of North America killed, dispossessed, and drove into reservations most of the Native populations of this country. Also, imagine leaving Black people out of your narrative of historically "investing in your human capital." Would also like to mention that the US colonized the Philippines in the early 20th century and repressed independence movements there. Then the Japanese occupied them during WWII. The Philippines have only been independent for about 50 years. But sure, it's that Iberian Catholic decadence to blame. |
| There is too much abuse of the H1b visa and related visas. Companies cut costs by hiring third world workers and Americans get laid off. It's been happening for 25 years and it's time to put a stop to it. |

If you want to discourage American students from studying science and tech.
You replace them with foreign OPT students that are exempt from payroll taxes, accept lower wages, and are easy to exploit. OPT is H-1B. Same game, different name. We allow rich corporations to replace our own children with cheap temporary foreign labor. |

Let them eat cake
Federal gov makes it cheaper to hire F1s and OPTs than US citizens. Also employees are effectively slaves to one company About 15.3 percent subsidy. It is a disgrace. Note carefully that OPT did not arise out of legislation. Instead, the executive branch, many years ago, devised it on their own, declaring a post-graduation internship to be part of being a student. The original duration was one year, but was increased to 29 months by George W. Bush and then 36 months by Obama. the idea that someone graduating with a Master’s degree then needs a 3-year “internship” is preposterous. We take jobs from our own students and give them to foreign students to increase the wealth of elites. https://cis.org/Feere/Optional-Practical-Training-Foreign-Students-Now-4-Billion-Annual-Tax-Exemption |
My daughter an engineering major - who has a signed job offer upon graduation - just went to the Society of Women Engineers conference. All 14 international students with her cannot even find OPT - maybe the tides are changing? |
