I think OP had it right - backer-inners are only concerned about themselves. What's wrong with waiting to back out? At least it's on your own time, instead of everyone else (ie, backing in). |

People in the military are taught to always combat-park a vehicle: back in so if there is an alert you hop in and go without delay.
It is not easy for veterans to de-program themselves of tasks designed for their survival. |
| My gripe is with able bodied people who just have to take the absolute closest parking spot, no matter how tight. And they hold everyone up with their parking, whether head in or back in. If there are lots of spaces further back in the lot, just park there, and maybe you can even do pull forward park. Accidents happen in tighter parking areas. |

First of all, the word "narcissist" has basically lost all meaning.
Second of all, I got hit by someone backing out of a parking spot. So....I truly appreciate people who back into spots. Much less likely to hit people when leaving. |
+1 - listen to the pros you nincompoops |
But that was your fault for being near them while they were backing out. |

DCUM: “backing into a space and forcing everyone around you to wait while you back in is the hallmark of someone without driving skill not too mention narcissistic.
also DCUM: “being forced to wait while someone backs out of their space is just part of driving. Stop being so selfish. Also, it takes much more skill to back out of a parking space into the giant area of the travel lane than it does to back from the travel lane into a parking space.” |
Well, according to the VA DMV, the proper hand position is 8 and 4. It is no longer 10 and 2 because of the airbags. If the airbags deploy, your hands are more likely to hit you in the face in an accident. https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/sites/default/files/forms/dmv39d.pdf - page 14. As for the mirrors, this is what they say: Blind spots are danger areas where vehicles around you cannotbe easily seen. Before driving, adjust your vehicle’s mirrors. Make sure the inside rear view mirror frames the entire back window. Adjust both side mirrors so you can barely see the sides of your vehicle. |
