Anybody screenshoot it? Just curious. |

I am so glad that our team does not operate like this. We are a lower division team that has moved up and down over the years and the constant is community and fun no matter the division. The club swimmers dominate the A meets but they all seem to have a lot of fun and the coaches don't put negative pressure on them to carry us at A meets. There is a lot of camraderie between the A and B swimmers and many of the club kids go to the B meets to cheer even when they are not swimming. We have some strong swimmers who are not club kids who regularly A meets and club kids often swim different events in B meets to get practice and have fun. It doesn't have to be toxic and competitive. |
Curious about any other teams? I may remember some of them. |

It's a result of poor coaching for the non-club swimmers during summer swim practice. Still getting DQs at 11-12, and even where this isn't happening, the kids aren't really pushing themselves. You can see them deflate in the pool when passed but a club swimmers, giving up before the race is even over. Their times barely improve, and often get worse. This is what is demoralizing to many club swimmers during summer swim. Teammates don't seem to care enough to put in their best effort, even if they don't swim year round. |
There's nothing to be studied. Their 13-14 Girls were unbeatable last year, but not so this year as they were swimming against some of the best in the area in Div A. One of their best female swimmers in 15-18 is not doing summer swim this year, another is injured after Week 2 and two of their best male swimmers are not swimming either this summer. More importantly, they have no depth in certain age groups. Nothing to do with coach Schlegel. |

They recruited a bunch of kids and had some fleeting success. Those kids are not loyal like homegrown swimmers at neighborhood pools. This is karma for all of the recruiting. |
All the swimmers mentioned above are homegrown kids, except for the girl injured who came from other country and started summer swim last year. Nice try though. |
Can you clarify what you mean by "recruited"? After starting club swim, some swimmers would prefer to swim for their year round coach during the summer and will seek a team transfer. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this, especially if their "home grown" team suffers from poor coaching by comparison. |
Homegrown by the coach and All Star Aquatics. Not homegrown to Avenel, Potomac Village or Oaklyn |
