Is a partial refund fair

I would be extremely annoyed and expect 25% overall, or the first night free, when there was no AC. Sorry, if you pay for AC for a hot beach vacation, you better get it, and 2 window units aren't the same.

And then they had to contend with repairmen in the unit replacing the A/C on their holiday? That is ridiculous. You need to refund a significant part, if not all, of their stay, but since you’re the kind of person who owns property in an armpit like Rehoboth, you probably won’t.

Agree.

We offered a totally free weekend in the off season. Not 50%
They turned that down.

That’s a terrible offer. 1- who says they are able to travel back? They will assume more costs with this extra vacation- travel, food, etc. 2- why would they WANT to go back to your place? You’ve disrupted their vacation.

+1. Not everyone has unlimited vacation at your convenient times or even wants to return to a beach on the off season. Give them the partial refund. Your condo unintentionally screwed up their vacation. Vacation days are too precious to be sweltering without AC in July heat

She won't come back because she is not taking any advice from anyone on here.

30% is like tipping pretax pre cocktails. This was a big inconvenience. If 50 % feels wrong to you do 45

Are you serious?

I’d refund Saturday through Tuesday in full. They did not have central AC for those days, which is presumably a feature that was promised. No- window units are not the same. And they had to deal with inconvenience multiple times (no ac on Saturday, installation of windows units on Sun, and AC replacement on Tuesday)

How much is the bad review worth to you??!

And if they still give a bad review or mention the issue in a review, you can respond truthfully that those days were refunded in full and central AC has been installed and is working great.

If I was renting I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my stuff (laptop etc) if workmen were coming in and out. Did the renters have to put up with this situation? Did they have young kids who wanted to nap or adults who wanted a leisurely breakfast but couldn't do that because of the workmen?
