What did the public job report say? |
My view of AI is realistic. I work in the area. All of these people saying next year, in 5 years, in 10 years. What? AI still will not work. It's good that companies are firing employees today to replace them with AI. They are already discovering that it doesn't work and hiring replacement employees. |
Dumb, hyperbolic post like this are not helpful. Both parties are responsible for allowing AI to proliferate and not negotiate nonproliferation treaties with countries like China in the past 5-10 years. Now half the population is going to be out of a job, a college degree and those student loans are going to be meaningless, and we’re going to have to pay for UBI so all these people without jobs don’t riot in the streets. Also, AI taking all these jobs means it makes absolutely no sense to let more people in the country because they will inevitably have to receive UBI as well and will just be another mouth to feed. It is going to get real ugly real quick. The Microsoft mass layoffs are just the start. Your company’s not far off. So is mine. Buy acres of land in a place far north that won’t be affected so much by climate change, preferably with room for your kids who will have scant job prospects, especially if they have college degrees. Learn to hunt, fish, and farm. It is going to get real bad real fast. I would love to be wrong but rationally this is where AI is taking us. |
We still have a jobs report!?!?
I am surprised Stephen Miller has not stopped that or found a way to lie about it yet. |
Sadly, I think the people who love Trump probably had abusive fathers and find him familiar and maybe even comforting. |
Trump is an incredible third world country king |
Not sure I believe this, but...
US labor market adds 147,000 jobs in June while unemployment falls to 4.1% |
You sound stupid. Typical MAGA the pp said anyone not everyone. Go back to worshiping your leader the adults are talking. |
I agree. MAGA are so hateful and angry all the time. It seems like a serious mental health issue. |
LOL |
This is probably true. Every person that I’ve known that has admitted to being a Trump supporter is an authoritarian jerk to their family, and a coward outside of it. |
What an odd jobs report.
Up 147k. Govt 73k, health 39k, social assistance 19k. Other sectors little changed. Everything the admin is cutting is actually adding jobs, while the more productive sectors that they want to increase are flat. I know the Fed layoffs haven’t hit yet, since employees are on severance, but why are states still spending with the threat of funding cuts looming? |
I have a full-time role in AI as well. What is it you do? Again, your view is hopelessly naive. |
Now what?

Nonfarm payrolls rose by 147,000 in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday. That’s above the Dow Jones forecast for 110,000. The unemployment rate also fell to 4.1%, while economists had projected an increase to 4.3%. Market gains were contained as the strong jobs report also spurred a big spike in Treasury yields and reduced expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates soon. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/02/stock-market-today-live-updates.html |
