Trump Jobs Report - AWFUL

Anonymous
So a lot of state/local public education staff are going to be laid off due to Trump cutting billions in public education grants a few days ago. But I'm sure the next report will show a surge in federal hiring because we all know the private sector is terrible right now.

Posters like myself have been warning everyone that we need to curtail AI for years now because it will end up rendering a large percentage of employees obsolete. This is just the beginning. Andrew Yang was warning about this but he was too smart for the middlebrow masses. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.

Microsoft is about to lay off 9,000 employees. It’s not because business is bad. Their stock is almost $500/share now and they’re one of the richest companies in the world. They’re laying people off because of AI.

Most people on this board are going to be laid off and need UBI in less than 10 years. The Dems aren’t going to save you. Trump isn’t going to save you. It’s over.

They're laying people off because of greed.

Companies have been laying off and using AI to replace them in the past couple years, and already are hiring and moving back to people because AI doesn't work.

Your view of AI is naive. It's rapidly improving (measured in months, not years). If companies are rehiring, it's because they're still calibrating around the current state of AI (which will be many times better in just a year). AI, plus the rapid pace of robotic innovation, spells doom for the job market. And technology cannot be held back. If the US tried to put the brakes on it, China and others would continue accelerating. Neither party has a solution for what's coming but, of the two, we know that the Republicans will do everything in their power to make sure people suffer.

A few years ago they were worried about a shrinking and aging workforce — any chance these trends will dovetail and we skirt Armageddon ?

This place is filled with DC animals whose world is being shaken to the core, and a large part of the country is saying good.

Why is that? The entitlement mentality is rampant here. As if! You think you are necessary in government? Get real.

75% of the federal govt could be cut a few would miss it. 70% of the federal budget is transfer payments (money going from one person to another).

Do you want to spew your nonsense at the nearly 2M Floridians on Medicaid (the largest in the country). God forbid some of us in DC would like to help those out in a bad@sskward state.

You’re not better than other people. Your savings make you no more, or no less worthy of dignity and respect.

I never said I'm better than others. I'm saying stop putting me on the line for medical spending of complete strangers because you want to feel good about yourself by spending other people's money.

I'm further saying that you're probably one of the takers. Are we clear?

Hmmm, do you use the interstate highway system? how about meat inspected by the USDA? Or weather from NOAA? Or drugs tested and approved by the FDA? I could go on, but we live in a society where some people use some of the offered services, and others use other services. People who bike don't use highways. People who are vegetarians don't need meat inspectors. See? So you pay for services the Congress approves and the Executive is supposed to administer. It isn't a pay-as-you-go system, it is a government.

A Day in the Life of Sue Republican

Sue gets up at 6 a.m. and fills her coffeepot with water to prepare her morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.

With her first swallow of coffee, she takes her daily medication. Her medications are safe because some commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of her medications are paid for by her employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance – now Sue gets it too.

She prepares her morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Sue’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the shower, she reaches for her shampoo. Her bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient because some whiney liberal fought for her right to know what she was putting on her body.

Sue dresses, walks outside, and takes a deep breath. The air she breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting the air. She walks to the subway station for her government-subsidized ride to work. It saves her considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, so everyone has the opportunity to be a contributor.

Sue begins her work day. She has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays, and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Sue’s employer pays these standards because her employer doesn’t want his employees calling the union. If Sue is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, she’ll get a workers compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn’t think she should lose her home because of her temporary misfortune.

It’s noon and Sue needs to make a bank deposit so she can pay some bills. Sue’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Sue’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Sue has to pay her Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and her below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Sue and the government would be better off if she was educated and earned more money over her lifetime.

Sue arrives home from work. She plans to visit her father this evening at his farm home in the country. She gets in her car for the drive. Her car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards.

She arrives at her childhood home. Her generation was the third to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.

She is happy to see her father, who is now retired. Her father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Sue wouldn’t have to.

Sue gets back in her car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Sue enjoys throughout her day.

Sue agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m self-made and believe everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.”

This is an impressive screed but totally devoid of context or a knowledge of history.

A lot of these advancements were made by the same Unions, like the Teamsters, who didn’t even endorse Harris and whose members are vehemently pro Trump now.

Nixon was the one who founded the EPA and made many of the environmental advancements you’re talking about.

RFK Jr did more to clean up the water supply, namely the Hudson River, than anyone in Biden’s administration.

And a lot of those other advancements were made by old white guys who would be cancelled by today’s Democratic base for their social views. Notably LBJ, who constantly dropped the N word, and FDR, who put Japanese citizens in internment camps.

What advancements? You mean like declaring co2 a pollutant?

How about EPA concentrate on cleaning up the oceans filled with trash and cleaning up Superfund sites instead of "monitoring" them and creating endless spreadsheets with categories and worrying about people getting 200mpg driving around in tin cans?

Less bean counter work and more cleaning the environment.

They for granted how good we have it.

Look at the employment numbers in the context of history. It's not bad at all.

If you lose your job, it’s impactful, no matter how you attempt to minimize it for that poster.

Just bragging now.... I've always been a saver. I've never had less than a year of living expenses.

I do not rely on anyone including the government. Stop living hand-to-mouth.

This place is filled with DC animals whose world is being shaken to the core, and a large part of the country is saying good.

Why is that? The entitlement mentality is rampant here. As if! You think you are necessary in government? Get real.

So you democrats didn't fall for carbon credits/carbon offsets, endless "free" health care for all, that illegal aliens contribute more than they take, and taking away guns from legit owners will stop crime? Do tell.
