I had an AI chat bot the other day who couldn’t answer a simple question. Why would a bank just waste $$$? There will be a swing back to in person communication. Life, and the preferences of humans, is a pendulum. |
That’s adorable you think it’s not riddled with lies. |
I’m pp, it’s definitely worse than they’re reporting. |
Lie. |
Hold out hope I guess. But it’s not going to happen. |
A corollary would be to say “this flip phone in 1998 is nothing spectacular. How are they going to get the internet on this thing?” Technology moves at a rapid pace. AI is accelerating that pace and is self improving. AI can already create music videos on its own and create songs that mimic artists that sound exactly like something that artist would create. Services like NotebookLM can read Moby Dick for the first time in seconds and spit out a comprehensive summary. Imagine what that will do to legal jobs in the future. AI will be able to diagnose patients will no assistance. Imagine how that will decimate most of the medical field and professions like lab techs and X Ray techs, let alone when it displaces a lot of low level doctors it 10-15 years when it is more advanced. Unless government mandates that companies can’t use AI or replace workers with AI - which will never happen - we are on an increasingly fast road to societal collapse. |
Dang. Eventually they won’t be able to hide it but they can for now. Those of us with jobs need to plan accordingly. |
Those are allegedly state and local government job number increases. The federal government jobs are minus 7,000. |
Which absolutely defies logic. Who really thinks that state and local government are on a hiring spree right now? Everybody is bracing for funding cuts. |
Yeah. I am used to following my business news on CNBC, but I am finding Bloomberg Reports more somber and realistic. |
Yep. Anecdotally, there are statewide hiring freezes in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania are under hiring freezes. The university systems and local county governments in North Carolina and Delaware are under hiring freezes. I’m sure if you go further out, there are other states with financial uncertainties and have some form of spending and hiring restrictions. But heck, Nebraska, Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Iowa may be on a spending bonanza fright now and that explains all those new state and county hires in this job report. |
Okay, he pissed somebody off and it has now been removed. |
