Let me guess, you probably wouldn't try CPR are someone either.

Nope. Because I don’t know how to do it.

No trolling. Just another poster who agrees. Sorry you can’t fathom people that think carrying Narcan around is ridiculous.

Sincerely curious about this mindset: Is it also ridiculous to go through CPR training? Because if you encounter a stranger who might need it, that's not your problem?

Yes, it is ridiculous. I don't know how to do CPR nor do I care to learn. I am not a medical professional. Sure, I would help someone out in an emergency but I'm not learning CPR just in case.

I don't know a single parent that doesn't know CPR. You learn infant/child and then recertify for age 12.

Do you ask people? I don’t know it and don’t think many I know other than medical and emergency personnel know.

I guess it would have been better to say I don't know any parents out of our circle that don't know CPR. It's just something you do. Everyone goes to the infant/child class, and then to the 12-adult classs. It's just the done thing.

LOL unless you have literally never meant any other parents than I guarantee that the majority of the parents you know DO NOT know CPR.

Idiot.

No it’s not the “done thing”.

I have no idea which parents know CPR. This is not a topic that has EVER been discussed.

Didn't you have it in your parenting classes? It included choking as well.

I never had a parenting class. I didn’t know that really was a thing.

I didn't say it's the done thing in your circle or area, but it is in mine. It's not a big topic of discussion, but everyone does it.

That's interesting. My kids are older teens and it was not something anyone did around me, I didn't either. Maybe it's a new thing, or a very affluent thing? Was it something you paid for?

Or they may be at a party/event where someone needs it. Don’t be dense PP.

Not my kid’s problem.

+1. Not sure I would want my kid involved TBH

Yep, because it's psychologically so much better for my kid to witness a teenager die of an overdose than to be able to administer lifesaving treatment!

Your entire circle needed parenting classes? No wonder you’re afraid your kids and their friends will OD…

I got CPR certified when I was babysitting.

My sister is a prosecutor and has narcan in her court bag. You never know what you'll encounter at the courthouse and it's better to be prepared.

+1,000 this is hysterical. Most parents don’t need or take parenting classes. Are you talking about court mandated parenting classes? If you need parenting classes, you have a problem.
