Yes, it is ridiculous.  I don't know how to do CPR nor do I care to learn.  I am not a medical professional.  Sure, I would help someone out in an emergency but I'm not learning CPR just in case. [/quote]

I guess it would have been better to say I don't know any parents out of our circle that don't know CPR. It's just something you do. Everyone goes to the infant/child class, and then to the 12-adult classs. It's just the done thing. [/quote]

That's interesting. My kids are older teens and it was not something anyone did around me, I didn't either. Maybe it's a new thing, or a very affluent thing? Was it something you paid for?[/quote]
