Vance shunned by Pope Francis?

My understanding is they met only because JD Vance cornered the Pope at a service. As usual, JD can only think about himself instead of someone trying to recuperate from pneumonia.

“Cornered the Pope at a service.” And the Pope just happened to have a necktie for JD and extra large Easter eggs for the Vance children.

The Pope has an entire Swiss Guard. Nobody “corners him at a service.”

wtf. This is a horrible tweet. His “heart goes out to Christians”? And then a line about remembering him as if he were some old coworker?

JD may have converted but he has zero cultural or emotional connection to Catholicism.

JD Vance is a soulless shell pretending to be a human being.

I guarantee that Vance killed the Pope by meeting with him. Not literally but symbolically I mean honestly, Pope was moving around and working and then he met and had a conversation with Vance - probably was like - ugh, too depressing to continue having faith for all!! LOL

I think the Pope held out to will himself to get through Easter. Having a Pope not make it for Easter service is a huge thing and would have been pretty chaotic. I think he got through Easter and that was all he could really manage but he was probably so exhausted he really wanted to at least make Easter symbolically, the day of hope, worthwhile. He was a good guy.

He was a good guy. JD however should not have pressed to meet with him. It was inappropriate.

I have trouble with espousing support for the poor, but denying women birth control, which results in more poverty.

How can pregnancy be left to God’s will but not the survival of old men who consent to extensive, expensive medical procedures to prolong their lives?

“The Vatican has one golden rule, ‘We talk with everyone, dictators, good Catholics, anyone,’” said Massimo Faggioli, Catholic theologian at Villanova University.

I believe Trump had a similar practice in meeting with leaders like Kim Jong Un, President Xi, etc... as well as other politically controversial people, but was lambasted for doing so.

Or did you just pick that quote because it makes you look clever. For the record, JD Vance is a good Catholic.

He’s not even a good human!

His last words were advocating for the people of Gaza and that Israel was committing acts of terrorism. So how do you think he would feel about Trump and Vance enabling this behavior?

Vance killed the pope. I wonder Putin would want to meet him after this.

This is a good way to get Catholics to vote for you as president. Throw out all the good parts of Catholic teachings.

Does he think he’s better at Catholicism than the Pope? Just declare yourself the Second Coming, JD.

Only MAGA Catholics are going to be impressed by his visit with the Pope. Non-MAGA Catholics will not be swayed by it to vote for him if he ever runs.

This. And bringing politics into religion is not a good look . . . separation of church and state is very American. Vance can be any religion he wants to be, but don't wear it on your sleeve in our pluralistic country.

Except MAGA wants Us to follow church, no abortions, no gays, etc

What's worse - the fake lies about shunning or the fake lies about JD killing Frank?

Interesting take. It’s so odd to me how much the left thinks about the demise of others. Kind of morose veiled as humor.

What's worse is that you're calling recently deceased Pope Francis Frank.
