How to deal with Deposits May 1st if you are still on a waitlist elsewhere?

My kid was not on WL. He simple had NO answer on Ivy day, which we thought was odd….we reached out and nothing. Today came the offer. NOT from a WL.

Why was it odd? Did they receive a likely letter or something. Otherwise 95% chance of rejection.

To clarify, you are the PP? So, it sounds like there was a problem with the decision not having been uploaded to the portal, an anomaly.

I doubt they will give you beyond May 1 to respond, but I guess you can ask.

yes, I’m the PP. That is what he was told. Apparently he wasn’t the only one….there were about 25 or so offers that were not sent on IVY day. And no they didnt give him past May 1 to respond.

What a crazy situation. When did you reach out and how long did they get back to you? Did they call? They volunteered it happened to 25? Happy it ended in a yes for you though!

That's nice. I'll tell my 17 year old to enjoy paying the second deposit himself. Yours sounds extremely out of touch and entitled. Just one MORE reason to stay away from Ivies! If anyone ever needed a reason they should just read these threads!

Would he have been able to make the decision by May 1st if he had heard on March 27th instead of April 4th?
