There is no statute of limitations for civil denaturalization cases. If an administration abuses the spirit of the law they can target almost anyone by creating fictitious or disingenuous civil immigration fraud cases to revoke citizenship.

All 38 million greencard holders and naturalized US citizens are at risk if rule of law is not followed.

Really with this administration, not even natural born American citizens will be safe do of course all those others are at risk

OP here. I think it’s deeper than just plain racism. That might Magas wet dream, but I think the government’s goal is to use fear and discourage dissent. Another poster mentioned her white European DH being afraid. The man detained in the article is white. I think the threat of deportation is just another tool to silence people. Like going after universities, protesters.

I think they want to reduce the size of the population. Hence antivaccine propaganda, cuts to medicare and medicaid, mass deportations. It is the same song.

Actually, they are racists; they don't like black people very much, however they admit most American black people didn't emigrate of their own free will, and have mostly been here as long as the white people have.

Most of their hatred right now is towards "foreigners."

+1 I’m surprised no one wise mentioned this. Trump wants to get rid of birthright citizenship. Given the last few weeks, not sure why anyone thinks that would stop with the “anchor babies”

Here’s an example of MAGAs trying to figure out an avenue to strip away naturalization from those that step out of line.
Someone in a position of power, not just an anonymous rando online, feeling comfortable enough to very publicly call for the denaturalization and exile of a US citizen because they don’t like the way they think or what they say.
They seem to be trying to continuously change the rules so who knows what will stick if they actually try to pursue this.

Charlie Kirk is on X talking about how we should send all immigrants back-legal or not. It was never just about illegals immigrants. I believe in following the process legally, but it was obvious to anyone paying attention that they don’t want to stop at illegal immigrants. If we had a national Citizenship ID Card - which I have been a proponent of for years - much of this anxiety would go away.
