Large group of senior AP students caught cheating on their lit mid-term at Bullis. The exam was electronic and a firewall was not activated, so a number of kids used AI. Many threats made by administration, but no consequences. In fact, the cheating kids could retake the exam. One of the cheaters one a year-end award. Ridiculous. |

That story is true at Bullis. Over 20 kids.
Nobody gets in trouble for cheating at bullis. Pretty sure that’s what parents are paying for. This year was really bad and a slew of teachers are leaving because admin doesn’t care about academics and integrity . It’s actually really disappointing and sad. Are any privates not like this? |
This is so disheartening ........

+1 Heard the same - even when egregious. |
There was a pretty bad cheating scandal in the UL (Upper Level) Physics class. The main part of the problem was that the guys refuse to work with the women in the class and pass around the answers for tests, but ONLY tell the other men the answers. The girls got wind of what was happening and told the teacher, but it sounds like not much punishment is going to be done because they don't know who exactly was involved in the cheating. (Although I know the son of a so called "VIP'" [according to this forum] was involved) The girls weren't really mad that the guys weren't giving them answers, it was mostly because of the way they look down on/discriminate against them despite not even being capable of earning the grades that they receive. I do hope this forum doesn't turn into "reason 16787 why xyz private school is better than xyz other school", because this happens at every school across the DMV. It's disappointing, and something we need to teach our children to never do instead of placing pressure on them to constantly be the best, because that is definitely the trigger for it. |
How far kids go to cheat instead of doing the work in scary. Because what do you mean kids will steal the notes instead of just study. |
| GDS has the worst cheating of any |
What's happened? Besides the Physics cheating mentioned by the PP. |
And I mean this in a genuinely curious way, it's not sarcasm. |
GDS is the exact same. Some students get caught, but its really a hassle for the teacher to deal with. DS says that it is out of control, and the teachers either do not know or do not care. |
