Just like the announcement about sending 30K humans to a concentration camp in Cuba erased the story of going back on the grants freeze. Just like the story of taking over Gaza erased the story of 23 year olds with their fingers in all the data systems, deciding what to kill without the consultation and compromise typical in a democracy. They are flooding the zone.

THIS.

No, its an effort to erase brown and trans people.

At least you can be assured of sheer madness.

We’ve started taking the kids a few times a year, mostly to shows in the Family Theater but we’ve seen a couple of touring musicals and NSO kid friendly events.

We have tickets for a show in March but I think we’ll hold off on purchasing again until we see what kind of changes are made to the center. It’s a very special place to me and I don’t want to walk past MAGA displays and memorabilia there, or explain it to my kids.

Got it. Anyone who is not a head of a major for-profit company must live in total poverty. Otherwise it's a scam or a Ponzi Scheme or another synonym for that.

Meanwhile if you're a CEO of a for-profit company no amount of compensation is ever too large.

This is getting old. We're sick of being seen as peons.

Get rid of art that questions anything or is on the least bit provocative or with honest emotions is banned.

Art that promotes cliches like pregnant mothers and praises the administration is the only acceptable art.

This is well-known so if you don't believe me, research it.

Stalin was a HUGE movie buff. He loves a musical about a female tractor driver finding love on the collective farm. One of his other favorites was about a circus performer who had to flee the U.S. because she had a mixed race baby and sought refuge in the socially liberal USSR.
Yes, fascists love schlocky art.

Head of KC was overpaid as was the GC and KC was waaaaay too cheap with its musicians. That said, Trump had no business running it. Cutting the salaries might just make more sense.

Yeah, right, Trump is sure to increase the aalaries of the musicians and slash the pay of the President and GC. Seems very on brand for him to look out for the workers.

Sigh. I used to love going there and taking my family. One more place gone.

We have an above circles membership (I won't disclose the exact level but we ask that they leave our names off the programmes) and I have informed them we will not be renewing.

This is our surreal new world where no one I know can fully fathom what the heck is going on -- a convicted felon president who has never attended any Kennedy Center Show — has seized full control of the National performing arts center because he doesn’t like shows that he never attended.

Doesn't Trump already have a job? Plus a busy golfing schedule?

Sounds like another nonprofit scam, just like most nonprofits. Nothing but overpaid fake jobs, living large swiping nonprofit credit cards, and embezzling and money laundering to cronies.

I actually wrote the president of the Kennedy Center during the pandemic when they furloughed the NSO to say it was outrageous these hard working gifted musicians were the first ones cut when their wages were already so modest. I think others must have also because they reversed that decision.

So while I am
Not on board with underpaying artists and overpaying admin I would not say the KC is a scam. They attract many excellent shows and have worked hard to stay afloat without federal funding (which is less than a quarter of their revenues). They also have a nice mix of elite classical, innovative music, different dance genres and more casual free performances on the millennial stage. They offer many lovely seasonal shows around the end of year holidays and other special occasions. They host wonderful theatrical musicals. They have worked hard to live up their mission as a national performing arts center. They are not a scam but need fat trimmed from the upper echelons.

Tell me you know nothing about non profits (especially in the arts) without telling me…
