I actually wrote the president of the Kennedy Center during the pandemic when they furloughed the NSO to say it was outrageous these hard working gifted musicians were the first ones cut when their wages were already so modest. I think others must have also because they reversed that decision.

Not on board with underpaying artists and overpaying admin I would not say the KC is a scam. They attract many excellent shows and have worked hard to stay afloat without federal funding (which is less than a quarter of their revenues). They also have a nice mix of elite classical, innovative music, different dance genres and more casual free performances on the millennial stage.  They offer many lovely seasonal shows around the end of year holidays and other special occasions. They host wonderful theatrical musicals. They have worked hard to live up their mission as a national performing arts center. They are not a scam but need fat trimmed from the upper echelons. [/quote]
